Another chiily, breezy late fall day with blue sky's. 44.67 miles out to Oberlin and back to Avon.....
The leaves are still changing into there bright colors and it reminds me as to why we moved back to a climate that actually has 4 seasons.
The house below belonged to Arthur Lovett Garford. Besides being a industrialist he was also the inventor of the padded bicycle seat...

38 miles with 7 hard 1+ mile climbs. I'm doing this race on Saturday and hope the Z4/5 intervals will help. Anyone know how to lose 20 lbs in 4 days? It's only 5.3 miles @ 8.5%.

4 hours of banging around Reagan Park today. Spent 2 hours "warming up" on the cross bike, then the practice group got there and we did our thing. Very intense. I almsot puked doing runup intervals.

I'm glad I did the hill intervals tonight and skipped Shawn's practice. He always throws in some intervals on that steep hill. I'll be there tomorrow to do the weekly cross practice that will include Z5 hill intervals and carries.

10/21 Took the day off and did 65 magnificant miles through the Amish country side. Started in Apple Creek and rode to Charm for breakfast at Grandma's Resturant. Then a very nice return route to Walnut Creek to Winesburg and back to AC. Some thing unusual always happens on these rides as I try and take new and different route each time I go.
1.Rode my first dirt road, not gravel this was bonafide "dirt" they did eventually throw some stone on it but that only made it worst!!
2.Drafted a John deere doing 20 down a narrow country road.
3.Found two really nice roads to riide, along with some new hills I'd not been on before.
4.Got lost twice, one was after a long climb up a hill, when I realized i turned left instead of right.
5.Oh the view and colors, just great!!

^^^^^ nice ride Dan!
I too bugged out of work early, and got 58 miles down to Lodi. The rollers on Vandemark helped break up a pretty steady southerly heawind. Such a beautiful day I didn't want it to end.

10/21, 20 miles
I made an early escape from work today also.
Had a Harley biker guy SCREAM at me because he had to slow down.
I absolutely had the right of way (I always follow the rules, it's too dangerous not to).
I guess it must have been demeaning for a big bad biker to get slowed down by
some sissy in spandex on a bicycle.
Other than that incident it was another great ride.
Cheers.

2 or 3 minutes of cross riding then the chain sucked in between the spokes and cassette. Had to take the bike home and take the chain apart to be able to remove the wheel so I could take the cassette off. I must have bent the rear derailleur when I crashed bunny hopping the telephone pole at the race on Sat. I'll call this a rest day.

10/22 20 miles, rode to the only indoor pool near my home and did 1 hour of swimming. The pool is right off the local bike path so it worked out great.

Weather nice, as you know, and the riding days as always in Ohio; questionable.
So...I rode 90+ miles over the last three days. Wanted to get over a hundred by today but as usual rain on weekend!
