Just did another fairly leisurely 15 miles along the D&L and around town in Allentown. the weather was incredible for the 5th day n a row, and I rode with a female friend of mine. It was a pleasurable ride. Here's a couple shots.
At a pull off for the Lehigh river there.
Against some wall at a damn near the Lehigh River in Allentown.

Cleveland - East side
Been working my way up, commuting aside. Did a 12-miler and 15-miler last week, both with intense hill climbs.
Yesterday:
Did a solid 28-mile loop, mostly rolling hills with a couple big climbs on my Long Haul Trucker. Going out Music Street from Chagrin Falls, OH, east into Geauga County, south to Bainbridge (past 422), west into Solon via Pettibone/Aurora Rds (nice bike lane on Aurora!). North on Harper - long mile+ slog uphill - to Miles Road. Took the nice long downhill (3 miles or so) all the way back into Chagrin via South Chagrin Reservation.
Glad I got out before this rain hit. Came home and watched the Cavs decimate the Pistons.

Nice. I used to live near Lane/High. I'd take the Olentangy path up to Worthington, make the long cut over on Schrock Rd, then catch Alum Creek Path south. And I did a lot of riding out of Granville when I was in school - man, there are some nice routes out there.

My 'long way home' commute when I want the extra 10 miles is up to Central College, north on Sunbury to Walnut and then down to Schrock to High to 161 to Olentangy MUP to Harrison West/Victorian Village area. Good ride.
What's interesting is Schrock. I feel like when you go West on it, it's a tough ride. Not sure why, the "unnatural rollers" from the overpasses you take or something, but it can kick your butt on most rides. Going East never feels as rough. Probably all in my head + West = going home so maybe that it's the 2nd ride of the day or the 2nd half of a long ride? *shrug*
Wish they'd street sweep in the bike lane they have there though, instead it's pretty littered with gravel & glass. I pretty much ride the very left side of the little lane, almost on the white line. ugh.

Nice 21 mi. ride today, with 1156 ft. climbing. Took 3 of my favorite 2-tracks, which are finally snow-free and dry. Quite a bit less noise since I took the studded tires off last week. So far this year I'm up to 550 mi., 28,200 ft. climbing. Each 29,035 ft, of climbing I count as an "Everest"

Turned out to be a decent day afterall. A quicker 30 miles, hitting most of the hills around the scout camp and mill hollow. Still need to lighten the load somewhat to be competitive.....

3/23, 28 miles
Sunny & 60 degrees!
1st ride in a week, due to a lingering knee issue.
Little bit of discomfort afterwords, but I think I'm past it.
Work is slow at the moment, so I'll be able to ride the rest of the week.
Edit:
CvilleSam, spring is out here in IL for the moment, I bet you'll see it again in the next day or so.
28 miles on my new Gatorskins, no flats.
Cheers,
Kelly

Its the first flat on my Ultra Races, however it was the rear and the tire was nearing the end of its useful life anyway. Even then it was a slow leak didn't even notice until I could feel a clunk clunk clunk.

3/23 - 20 miles
Rode out to County Line and Caton Farm then south to Seil and east into Shorewood before heading home before work. No real wind here at all today. Hopefully will finally pick up my riding more this week and into April.

3/23 - 20 miles
did a partially new route last night on the north side of Madison. started around Maple Bluff following the Mendota bike loop (past Warner Park) but then turned on K off M in Westport. took that to Q, which reconnects with M in Middleton. then back, going past Gov. Nelson. decent route, some traffic on M of course; a few rolling hills. but, i went too late in the day. didn't start until 7pm so the last 25 minutes or so were in the dark. ended up missing a turn and got dumped on Northport (113) on the way back. the advantage was plenty of street lights, but of course tons of fast moving traffic (4-lane hwy at that point). got in about 10 after 8.
that was my third ride with my new road bike. loving it!

2 hrs of trainer class tonight. Finally caught back up to the A group when I finished the high cadence ladder with 190 rpm for 30 seconds. Too bad the indoor seasons done.

Sorry about that Dan. I thought I mentioned it to you when I saw you on Friday and you said that you would try and make it if you could.
