32 miles today along a route I hadn't taken before. Some moderate rolling hills, but mostly rural roads and secondary highways. 15-20 mph wind was in my face the first dozen miles, which sucked, but I got it back on the way home. Other than that, moderate temps, sun was out, not a cloud to be found, all the dirt and debris on the roads is starting to clear up. All in all a great day to have gone out.

YES! Season started!
Easy 22 miles in Busse Woods. Saw a lot of smiling faces - they probably just started their season too. And, BTW - dog crossing the trail right in front of you - priceless!

Once the fog burned off today was glorious. You could smell spring in the air. Got 34 miles in, did the steep side of Mill Hollow which is always fun. Finished the ride feeling like I could have gone another 20. But I didn't..came home and did some "mom" chores.

Tomorrow's another day, and it's supposed to be a beauty!

Weather was incredible! I did a 40 mile Belleville loop.

Can you tell where I had a tailwind?

Did a nice easy 8.34 miles on the fox river trail with my 7 year old. He set a new personal record for distance and was quite proud and happy. Dad was happy because I found the parts I needed to complete my build at the bike garage in East Dundee and MainStreet bikes in Cville. Should have this new bike ready for New Glaruse afterall, (knock on wood).

What an awesome day to ride!!!! Loved it! Riding a bike is just the best! Left home around 11:30 and rode my 30 mile hilly route and added on some extra hill sections and worked on repeats. Ended up with 40 miles. Felt good the whole way.

I'm not in awesome shape but I'm fine on the hills...sucking wind but surviving. The winter's running has kept me in decent shape, but running's not biking, ya know???

Looks like tomorrow will be a good day as well. Enjoy!

I was on the path between Batavia and Geneva and finally hit the streets. Just way too many folks out (can't blame them) for me to feel comfortable riding there.

13 hours of workage today. And about 8 miles total.
I went into the bike shop for my first day back at 10, got off at 5. Busted ass to get home and change really quick and to down a quart of water. Then got back on the bike and rushed to the restaurant I work at from 5:20 until 10:30.
I had dinner and a half dozen shots of espresso to keep myself alive.

I'm getting up early tomorrow so I can go out for a team ride. I still haven't messed around with my cranks, so they'll probably click and annoy everyone I ride with.

espresso is GOOOOOD!

4/6 = yes = 27 miles.

yesterdays effort left my legs dead to me today. it was a shorter/easier ride, but i cant call it recovery since it hurt like hell (hello wind).

on a side note, i would like to publicly state; "Aham23 likes dogs, just not while riding."

i think i have been out 5 times this season. 4 of those rides have encountered dogs. dogs chasing me, trying to bite me and dodging in in front of my bike. today it was a pit bull cross bulldog cross boxer that chased me. the fat little ******* almost took me down as the cute kid on the tricycle yelled "Dont worry he wont hurt you." he actually brushed my back wheel as i sprinted off.

later.

4/6 - did another 25 miles today. Another gorgeous day. However, this time my bottom reminded me that I was not on a bike since November. I think it would take couple of weeks to build strength in that part of my body.
Great weekend in Chicagoland this week. We need more of those...

+1 - good ride. I'm not sure if Kimbercop had a 40miler in mind when we started, but he definitely had it in him. I needed some time on a "go-fast" rig instead of the knobbie laden cross bike. It was a good day.

Wind sucked, but what else is new. Beautiful day for a ride.

OMG what a beautiful day, it broke 50 by the time I got home. No booties, no beanie, no jacket, fingerless gloves, it was like summer...........almost.

Well I decided to hit some hills to help brake up the wind ( it didn't work). Put in 60 miles and 4100 feet of climbing and it feels good.

I had 58 miles today which is a real good day for me. Nice weather, 68 degrees but yes, it was windy.

66 miles today, Me and the wife. We meet up with garysol and his wife, and momof4, we had done a 35 mile loop before we meet them. Wife has to work on fueling better on the longer rides, nearly bonked, but the day was saved by a power bar from gary.
It probably didn't help my wife that on the earlier part of the ride I failed to see a stop sign and in my hast to stop was unable to avoid having her hit me from behind and caused her to fall hard, she has a couple of nice scraps and bruises from my little mistake. SORRY HONEY!!!!

I did like 50 miles today. I felt awesome again after two days of no riding due to work and such.
I devoted the day to climbing every hill I could find, which is really unusual for me since i generally don't like climbing, and I did a few sprints.
I actually felt good enough to sprint a car up a shallow sprint hill at about 30mph. I almost hit another cyclist going up the hill when I passed them.

But anyways, I got home and sweat was dripping form my hair.
