Where can I get me one of them roads like that? I'm pretty sure they're illegal in Illinois, or at least not native to the state. I cetainly don't remember ever seeing one.

Voldemort....bring the tube this weekend and I'll look at it. What bike was it on?

Well....didn't ride today (family obligations), but I did set a record. i now officially no longer have any belts that will fit. I feel like I am swimming in all of my clothes as well. This usually happens, but it is usually in July.

What's more encouraging is that my weight has stayed the same (roughly) so I am just adjusting body composition.

It has led to the pictures of me at the race last weekend (thanks JW!) where my vest looked like I was wearing a garbage bag. My Great Lakes jerseys are too big now and consequently so are the rest. After Tuesday night's ride where I listened to my vest flap the whole way I figured it was time for something that fit.

I went to the PI outlet during lunch and bought a new vest (optic) and a couple of jerseys. All in size "M". I haven't worn an "M"....ever really. Even racing Juniors at 165 lbs I was in a "L", but that was an 80's size "L" (I assume that would be a modern "M").

Not anywhere near my goal, but at least now I have some stuff that fits better. Yay me.

Where can I purchase a Bikeforums.net Great Lakes jersey? By the way, I ride everyday, I have to, I don't have a car. Rain, shine or snow.

yay you!!!!

seriously, sometimes we are so oddly the same it scares me. after my PI Optik jacket was flapping around all weekend, and subsequently costing me two beers as i could be heard coming like a mack truck, i placed an order for some new jackets. they arrived today, a PI Optik (great wind jacket) and PI Zephrr (Heavier for colder temps) both in MEDIUM. being tall i am affraid they may be a bit short, but havent tried them on yet.

lucky me though my RACE CUT BFNIC Jersey fits like a glove!!

later.

66.25 miles tonight
Average power of 186 watts
Max of 1101 watts
Average speed of 18.96 mph

For the second time in two rides my HRM has messed up, tonight it stopped reading, and last night it was reading 230+ bpm

For the record, the Wednesday Spin ride last night was a slaughterfest. We started off with ~30 riders and ended up with 6 including me. At the beginning me and Stefan, an RGF rider were driving a chase at 32mph!!! Towards the end the remaining 6-8 riders were driving a 30mph paceline. Once the same guy got out front we were at 34mph, and I had to jump on the pedals to keep up the pace!

Coded or non coded HR Mitch? I think you had the 2.4ghz head unit correct? I know my PT HRM is very susceptible to errors when my jersey flaps against the HR strap and you are so damn fast I know your jersey must be flapping like old glory in a hurricane.......

Close, Leelanau County, Just south of Leeland, Its the road that goes right in front of Sugar Loaf, at the bottom of the hill is M22.

There's tons of crappy roads around here too, but plenty of nice ones so it all evens out.

Did 17 miles on the mtb this morning and my new Orbea was done this afternoon so I put another 30 miles on tonight

Couple of thoughts....
1. Pulling the air pump head off of the valve to hard when your done pumping them up.
2. Sharp edge on the rim around the valve hole.
3. Cheap tubes.....?

Coded, and my jersey wasn't flapping too much. In my power chart you can see my heart rate going, going, going, and POW! it drops like I'm dead.

Try this Mitch....Go for a ride and when you see this happening take your hand and press your jersey against the strap for a minute and see what happens.....just try it.

A bit over an hour on the road bike. Nice out though ... sunny, 70F, and just a little windy. I tripped and fell in the basement when getting ready to ride, so I was afraid of my own shadow while riding, but it was nice riding a quiet bike compared to that PIG of a MTB I've got.

5/2 - rain and lightning in the morning, but squeezed a ride in during lunch. Short on time though and threatening skies again kept me to 12.4 miles. Plenty of wind along with the stormy weather. Legs felt much better and loose the 2nd day out after a few days off. Hopefully weather will clear out in time in the morning.

5/3 - Morning Village Peddler loop. Mr. Wind was crazy mad at us. Must have thought we were messing around with Mrs. Wind or something. We suffered down McDonald Rd into the wind for what seemed like forever. When we finally got a good look out West it looked as though the world was about to end.

The strongest rider there and I were riding right next to each other looking at each other like, "I'll turn around if you do." Finally we decided to cut the loop short and start heading back.

The tailwind was, as always, a present from above. We were able to get back and into the cars before the rain started coming. Never really rained hard though so I almost wished we had stayed out.

Not a bad ride, but short at under 20 miles. ...

...maybe I race tomorrow to make up for it ?

5/3 = YES = 26 miles.

holy wind. i departed around 730am when it was clear and sunny. like normal i head 7 miles WEST before deciding on a route. i almost didnt make that 7 miles. a bit hungover, tired legs, and the wind had me wanting to turn back. i was going like 12 mph into the freaking SW headwind. i stuck with it and finally made a north turn and began to enjoy the ride a bit. when it was time to head back south i grabbed onto the back of a large group of riders. they saved me some serious suffering for 5 miles. of course the last 7 miles home were with the tailwind.

Saturday Ride Stats

plan a bigger, better, and longer effort tomorrow.

later.
