5/2 raining today, no ride. Did get in some biek maintence (broken front brakes adjuster/found that rear brake caliber was totally shoot). Bought two new saddles! So the day wasn't a total loss.

As I type this it is raining so hard I can hardly see my neighbors! Hope tomorrow is better!

Late morning - 39.3 miles plus lots of wind, just like some others had. No rain though. The wind was more difficult that the hills. Unlike Garysol, I just keep putting off that barwrapping I need to do. Was supposed to do it over the winter, then was really supposed to do it before heading to TdGa, still haven't done it and now the bar phat is starting to show. Hmmm. Maybe tomorrow?

5/4 = YES = 38 miles.

hello sun!! still needed the arm warmers, but overall the weather was great. today's 10 mph felt like a minor nuisance compared to yesterdays 20 mph!! i had to see at least 30 other riders out, but they were all going the other way. seems like i may need to rethink my route.

Stats

later.

54 miles today with a very early start. I love riding in the mornings because I have the roads practically to myself, but the downside is I live in WI and it just doesn't warm up enough to wear shorts and short sleeves until after lunch. que sera

5/4 - yes - 41 miles. Finally getting into "more than 30 miles" territory on a regular basis. Feels good.

63.55 miles today with a group of seven or so. We met up in Strongsville at 9am, and rode on [for the most part] abandoned country roads. The group were all racers, and I was the least experienced of them, but stuck with them all on the many rolling hills, flats and I dominated them on the descents. The pace was about the pace of a road race; rotating pacelines and race training. Surprisingly, there weren't any big sprints, but I guess I'm happy because one of the guys would rip my legs off (I was in a two man chase group with him on Tuesday night and he killed me) and another was a Masters Cat 2 and I'm pretty sure he could beat me in a dead-out drag race.
Over the explained terrarin, the average speed was 20.4mph with one drink stop @ 35 miles.

Gary, you up for this ride next week? The rout is going to be different next week, but still with the country roads. We'll meet at 9am on Pearl/Parkway

5/4 68 miles. I combined my two favorite rides into one longer ride, kinda the best of both worlds! Rode with Kathy from Hudson. She wanted to build some endurance, go long and not so fast. So we finished at about 14 mph. Some nice hills both up and down on WI35 heading to Prescott. I even got a little sunburn!

5/4 As gary pointed out in his post earlier we did 72 miles, started at my house in Elyria, ohio rode to Amherst to meet rest of group and them a nice winding route out to Milan, Ohio (birthplace of Thomas Edison) and eat at the invention resturant, rode back through Oberlin, Ohio and back to Elyria! Wife was at about her limit on this one but she held on with a little help.

Just for good measure we (Me, Wife and Son) did a ride as well heading out to Oberlin for ICE CREAM at Gibson's total of 24 miles.

So grand total 96 miles, D#mn missed a century by 4 stinking miles!!!!

5/4 - Shattered myself. Skipped the crit in Vernon Hills and kind of felt bad about it. Found time to ride late in the day. Couldn't talk CyLowe or Voldemort into riding with me and knew Kimbercop was working so I just headed out solo.

Hadn't eaten all day, but brought some hammer gel and water. Decided to droppeth the hammer.

Wind was bad, but still not a bad ride for me. 40 miles at 18.8 with the wind.

Gonna try to make the commute tomorrow a recovery and see if I can bring some hurt on Tuesday (read: "stay with the group").

Bite me, punk. I was heading west on I-94 through the armpit of Indiana when you called.

Plus I'm dealing with a wicked stomach virus in the last few days. On the bright side, it's helping me drop down to my optimal climbing weight...

True. I rode both days as well and yesterday didn't count. When you see farm implements blown across the road in front of you and your shallow section wheels feel like someone is constantly kicking them from the side....it doesn't count.

I did the Quadrupedal on May 4th. 8000ft of climbing. Some of those hills were pretty tough. Was a fun ride, tho.

Well I ride every day weather permitting. And use the bike to go to the shops etc. I have recorded quite a few of my trips on YouTube, but they can be seen and followed by looking at my web site and clicking on the screen you will find there.

Unfortunately 158 is kind of my norm. Well more like 145-155. I'm not one of those ultra fit guys who barely cracks 120 (*cough cough - aham - cough cough*)

I called it the shredder because recently whenever I do hard work on the bike my lungs just feel shredded afterwards. I have tons of lun cookies and end up having to use an inhaler late that night just to breathe. I think I have an upper respiratory infection....but I don't want to wussy out with any excuses.

05/05 - Commute in. Hurt. I found I can't ride softly anymore. I felt the need to push myself. Should be interesting to see how I feel for the ride home.

No personal best, but not bad either.
