7/26 - 40 miles
Dropoff in Morris. Rode on rural roads just north of Morris. Headed downtown and then rode thru Minooka on way back home.
7/31 - 27 miles
Did an after work ride out west to McKenna Rd., rode on some gravel roads on way back to Shorewood then home. Looked like Troy Twp. folks chipsealed (oiled road then placed pebbles over the oil) Seil Rd. from County Line to 1/4 mi. west of the RR tracks which is definitely not necessary since it has been paved before.
105 miles for the past week total.

typically i'm busy on wednesday nights, but was free last night so i made my first Wednesday Night Bike Ride group ride. it was ok. wasn't sure what to expect. the ppl were nice. i guess i was hoping for a pace line group, but i didn't see any form. clocked just under 27 miles around the Marshall/Waterloo area. we rode past the Trek HQ. kind of hilly; nice route all in all.

Rode the lakeside mtb trails at West Branch State Park (Ohio). Four days in a row on the singletrack! Orthopedic doc gave me the okay to ride again last week (arthroscopic knee surgery at the end of April) so I'm back at it. My legs are so happy to be able to ride trails again. No dirt tonight (boy has a soccer game) but I'm planning on an hour or so of around-town riding after dark.

I'm getting in as much seat time as possible before I leave Texas and return to Michigan next week. There's a lot of wide open and desolate areas to ride in peace and quiet. I put in 40 miles this morning. It felt great and the scenery was superb.

Did about 15ish miles today, what with riding to and from work by my longer route, and my random wanderings around downtown. So that's a gel seat AND a trip odometer I'm going to be needing...I've been using Mapquest to calculate distances on my usual routes.

I rode my Schwinn Typhoon 2-speed to work today. There's a speed sweet spot, just before wind noise takes over, where the tires really sing. What a hoot.

52 miles this morning. Dogs were barking madly and chasing after me in four different places along the route. Fortunately I ride faster than they run. One was a pit bull. That was a bit unnerving.

Emerald necklace
On Saturday I rode 47 miles of the 'necklace. My front tire got sliced around Albion and had to bag the rest of the ride. The hills were the best part!
