Only 53 minutes of cyclocross, thank God!

I saw Mitch in the "maze of mud" ( the worst 1.5 minutes of my life x 5), didn't get a chance to say "hey".
Speaking for myself, but I figure Scott got the same treatment. I think the call ups sort of screwed us.

We all were in the back. They called the top ten up, and everyone was in the mad rush to the line. We both started last row.

I tihnk I did like 45 minutes of CX today. I have to agree with Bill. The mud pit was the worst time of my life, but I only had to do it 4x. My wheel eventually locked up making it nearly impossible to ride even in the granny gear. Despite my efforts to scrape the mud off, it didn't yield results. I had to drop out with one lap to go.
I weighed my bike at the shop when I got back and I got a reading of 47.3 pounds. When I weighed my bike after I built it, I got 22.3 pounds. There are some just rediculous shot fo the the mess in the Show your Bike thread in CX.

Did the Tombstone Tour here in Northwest Ohio. 38.51 miles...cold and windy, but it was great. New personal best for miles also.

10/18 42 miles, man I hate north winds. With lake erie only 8 or so miles north of me, it gives me no choice but to side south and then back into the wind home or a cross wind going east and west. On the whole not a bad day to ride.

ya, i was in the last row. i quickly made up some spots on the sprint. Ended up finishing my best position yet in the BACX series. i liked the course. Especially the part where you fly down that little steep bump.

10/17, 20 miles

Hit the local MUP after work. 110ish cadence spinning.
Lots of garter snakes on the pavement enjoying the last bits of heat.

10/18, 43 miles

Blueberry pancakes and spicy goose sausage for breakfast, then hit the road at 10 am.
Chilly / breezy / sunny ride out west of Joliet. Woulda done more, but the damn grass
keeps growing and the leaves keep falling.

Cheers.

Edit:

Crimson & Jet, I just checked out your pics in the cx forum.

I rode from Chicago to the Panera at Waukegan Rd & Buckley Rd in Lake Forest and back. The 10 mph wind from the SW helped me cover 23 miles in one hour fifteen minutes.

Of course, the return trip against the wind added thirty minutes to the route.

Sheridan Rd is 100% finished in Highland Park. A huge improvement.

Temperatures near 50F allowed me to avoid layers and it was great to ride in just shorts and a jersey.

Michael

44 miles meandering around Lorain County today. Totally not loving these cold temps, but it's better than the trainer.

I definitely feel the fitness fading, and that on top of the cold weather it's just not great! next few days are supposed to be warmer so that'll be nice, gotta get out and ride while we can.

You mean this little speed bump? Or the one where mountain goats roam? You guys were flying down the big hill. I never got clipped back in before I had to do the 180 at the bottom.

Not trying to come across as a know it all but at 50 degrees you really may want to consider covering your knees.

a super-easy 27.4 miles today with a maximum of only 717w

On my way back down Lake Rd, I saw the lamest, most one-sided excuse for a high-speed car chase ever;
A Green mid-90's Mitsubishi VR4 was speeding down the road at at least 60-70 mph (it's a 35mph zone). A little later, I see 5 police cars with their sirens on driving down the road doing ~40 mph.

I'd liken it to Chuck Liddel beating up Stephen Hawkings.

33 miles early this morning. Chilly and windy but the Blue skis with the brightly colored leaves more than made up for it.

44 miles today, I think the leaves are peaking. Very beautiful w/the bright blue sky for a backdrop. Much more comfortable w/the warmer temps. Yeah, a little wind to keep us honest.

Did you feel like puking and messing your shorts at the same time? That's when I know I'm about 3 bpm's from MHR.

Decided to play hooky today.
Just got dressed and am headed out the door.
Think I'll start with a warmup lap on the MUP, after that I'm not sure.
