Apple Cider Century or Pumpkin Pie Ride (9/30)... what do I do?

they are both 66 miles from Chicago...

66 east to Michigan or 66 south, hmmmmmmmmmm??

I hear the traffic back from the Cider ride can be quite a drag ... on a Sunday night, coming from Michigan to the city, ugggh.... but I have ridden in Ottawa a few times already, and wouldn't mind trying something different...

Anyone have good/bad/neutral information on either that will help me decide?

Lots of different people coming. There is more than one "girl" that could possibly be there. I'll never have a final count because there are always people that lurk on here and then show up the day of without any notcie (perfectly allright).

As for the speed...read the description of the ride on the thread. It is designed so that riders of all sorts of skill levels can participate. Contrary to popular internet bravado we do NOT ride at 22mph (for long ), but really average about 15-20 for most rides depending on the conditions.

Besides it is no-drop and ther will be sweeps for each loop.

Come out and ride it. If you don't like it you will be at your car at the end of each loop so you could always leave after 30 miles. Then you would be well rested for one of these rides the next day

Apple Cider was my first century back in 2005. It's a great ride. TONS of people.

Fortunately, I didn't have to drive back through Chicago afterwards due to other plans. Traffic back from Michigan, whether 80/94 or on the Skyway, is always a major pain on a Sunday.

I actually signed up way in advance for the ACC last year, but skipped it for the Psimet ride. I recommend this course of action. The extra gas to get to the ride is easily offset by the registration fee (FREE!).

They both sound fantastic, having nothing to do with anything on a bike. I be at school though...
