Potawatomi Trail MTB ride

Had a chance to ride the Potawatomi Trail part of the Pinckney State Recreation Area in Michigan. Went from Youngstown, Ohio picked up my son in Toldeo and did about 50 miles north into Michigan on US 23 to Dexter-Townhall Road. It was drizzly with temps in the low 50's. Had a terrific time lots of opportunities to bash my 08' Giant XTC. First time I've had disc brakes and man, what a difference. Plenty of climbs and lots of rut filled downhills. Everyone came away muddy. Had a blast and I would recommend it to anyone. Wardie

Ugh, the Poto "never ending hill".
I almost passed out at the top of that once you know.

I haven't ridden Pinckney in 15 years. Man I'm getting old! Good to hear it's still as much fun as I remember.

I remember hiking that trail when I was a kid in Cub Scouts. I was probably about 9. I do remember how nice the MTB riders were. there were a few times where things could have gotten ugly but the attitude of "share the trail" prevailed. I've thought for a while about biking it, but I've never actually done it.

Dontcha just love how it greets you with a kick@ss hill... then finishes you off with the cardiac climb...?

Yeah... me too!

A ride report I created when I first rode the Poto.
