Hey look ... it's snowing!
Will chase the snow tomorrow. Will be skiing, no doubt.
Got my new MTB wheels together this afternoon. Went the cheapest route via Performance, but they look pretty good. Check it:
I forgot new skewers and cassette, so will order those today.
I used to have a 3 hour MTB ride from here doing the Rhonda du Greendale (a series of walking paths) then west on the St. Martin's gravel path out to Muskego, north to the New Berlin path that I took east to Greenfield Park, then south back home. Since the NB path is now paved, I'll have to change that. The Racine County path is pretty good, I rode that a half dozen times last summer and it's very rural with cows and farms ... that's packed gravel and takes you all the way to Burlington. You could even ride west from there on the White River Trail out to Elkhorn. That would give you, heck 75 miles, on 90% packed gravel, yet able to stop for water and food in town. If you need vertical, there are some wicked climbs in Burlington up to the water tower. Talk about a Hell of the North ride!
Just something different from riding the same roads day in and day out.

John very nice! now if we could just ride, though I have to say I've had some chances to get out lately. Just rode the MTB bike uptown to return some movies. I love the sidewalks aroung here, they are as good (rough) as any trail you could find abd there are lots of obstacles to make it interesting ( I don't mean the cars!).

I really didn't ride today--yesterday, here, in Cleveburg Ohio, it was sunny and 54. Today was my last PT appointment after my double knee replacement in November...I rode just a little to warm everything up, but i needed to attack the leg press machines and the balncing exercises that my PT taskmasters had in store for me...I can't wait to get back on a bike that actually goes somewhere and commute to school..with brand new, titanium knees.

Haven't used the White River Trail. How do you get to the trail from Burlington? My wife is getting a bike, she is mostly interested in riding (flat) trails rather than road riding.

Crummy pics compared to my current camera, but:
https://www.bikeforums.net/great-lakes/241068-white-river-state-trail-burlington-elkhorn-wi-pics.html#post3294032
I catch it at the eastern end on Spring Valley Rd:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie...05364&t=h&z=18
My Routeslip for it:
https://www.routeslip.com/routes/13226
So, from the center of Burlington (can you call it 'downtown'?), take 36 west about a mile, left on Spring Valley, ride 1/2 mile south, and it's on your right.

I didn't ride toady--I had more fun than should legally allowed---I had a root canal done. It didn't hurt while the endodontist was doing it, but the novocaine has worn off and I can feel it now...

I "rode" with Dave Stoller (I was on the trainer). I stayed with him for about 2 hours. Then he dropped me! And those b*stard Italians cheated again! I can't believe he keeps trusting them. And believe it or not, the Cutters won again at the Little 500. I keep thinking no WAY can Dave ride the whole thing, espacially after getting hurt. Man, is he a tough rider, or what?

Last day skiing. 2 1/2 hours that kicked my butt! (that on only 3 hours sleep will do that you 'ya) I'd do more, but too many hikers with loose dogs --> I tweaked my knee. I skied from Dec. 5 to April 5, who can complain?!
More bike parts arrived yesterday ... Sunday is for wrenching!

Sat/Sun.
Worked on getting boat #2 ready for use this year.
Did some cosmetic work on boat #1 to prepare for selling.
Just a little welding to do and a long shaft conversion kit for the motor and it's all done.
