Getting tired of this
Well, it's the 6th of March, we've already exceeded our average snowfall for the whole frigging month, and now I hear there's 5 to 10" more on the way for the weekend. So I just put in a bid on eBay for some more upgrade parts since I'm sure I won't be bringing the bike up out of the basement for a while yet. The longer the winter, the more stuff I buy.
At least this has been the best year for X-C skiing in about the last 20 years. Small consolation...

Word.
I like setting records and everything, but I've had quite enough.
Already one cancelled practice race. Supposedly I'm racing Sunday, but we'll see about that.

This is exactly why I'm leaving Michigan this year and never coming back. SC, here I come!
No more 150+ inches of snow in the winter, no more snow blowers, no more shoveling.
I can't say I'll miss any of it!
I hear ya on the upgrades, though. I've been doing the same thing.
Bought a Kestrel and a Trek this winter, and am upgrading my old Nashbar with a new wheelset, Shimano 105 7sp group, carbon fork, new bars, and a new saddle. If I could find a carbon seat post in 26.6mm I'd do that, too. Oh, and new tires. Got those sitting here, as well.
Looks like the only thing I kept was the frame, stem, and seatpost. haha

truth be told, the Trek is a MTB. I finally broke down, after 20+ years as a pure roadie, and bought a full suspension bike, because I friggin road isn't paved, and rarely gets graded, so I have to transport my 700x19c tire road bike anywhere I can actually ride it. After finally having enough of that, I wanted something I could cruise to the post office to get mail with, or just ride around the local (rural) area, and hit some dirt trails with.
Thus, I picked up that fuel EX 9.5 from a guy on eBay. Actually lost the bidding, by getting sniped, but the winner wanted two weeks to come up with the cash, so I got a second chance offer, and jumped on it.
Out of curiosity, what color is your Talon frame? I'm moving from my 52cm to a 48cm, and the frame I found is yellow. I have yet to see one that color. I am thinking it might look cool with a blue true fire paintjob though, on the yellow. I'll have to see who in the services forum does airbrushing.
yeah I know. too much free time.

It's a Talon SL with mostly just the naked weave and a few red accents. Let me see if I can find a picture...
Ah, there it is:

very nice. contrary to many, I actually really like the gloss carbon weave look. especially on the SL.
I'm not too sure about that bar tape though.. I saw it and the first thing that popped into my head was "circus clown car!"
why? no clue. just did.
maybe lack of sleep?

Fair enough. That bar tape is gone. Right now, I have some transparent tape on there. And some deep carbon tubulars too. And the aero seatpost.

oooh where did you find clear bar tape? now that sounds cool on carbon bars.
mine has Vision aero bars on it now. I was looking at some Profile drop bars and aero clip-ons for road use/non-tri/TT use.
I know what that old tape reminded me of now.. a really bad 60s psychaadelic trip haha
like in the cartoons when they do the pinwheel off-center spinning effect to make you dizzy.
I really didn't mean to insult you or the bike though. I'm in love with talon SLs. they're all lovely to me haha
I also love the one pinky 'bike stand' shot.

And believe me, I'm not too sensitive about my bikes. Insult away if you like.
Glad you like the pose though.

Where can I get more info on the practice races in Madison?
Maybe I can swing by on Sunday and work on my humor comprehension. you know... irony, sarcasm and the lot....

Err, my reading comprehension may also be suffering. Assumed canceled practice race was a Sunday thing. Can I assume Tuesday practice races (should) have started already? cool...

I spent a good 3 hours today chipping, breaking and shoveling about 5 inches of solid ice today. I figured I better get the ice up before tomorrow's 8-10" of snow arrives.....When will it ever end.....

All screwed up.
Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend and we've got lot temps predicted to go below zero tomorrow night.
Easter two weeks away?
HA!
The Easter Bunny is laying a weather egg this year, the year of the winter from hell.

Jeff Tanchak on channels 19 and 43 started talking about up to 2 feet of snow in Northeast Ohio Wednesday evening. Now Jon Loufman is repeating the statement. But it will probably be East or SE of Cleveland. Jeff Tanchak is a rebel, he is often days ahead of all the other weather people on upcoming weather events.
