Needed: Route(s) near New Glarus, WI
We will spend Memorial Day in Green County, WI. We will be staying in New Glarus, and plan to ride for 3 days. I have never been in that area so I looked around at sites like bikely.com for routes and did find some, but I have no idea which ones are good.
Hence my question: Does anyone of you have published online routes that are considered scenic and 40-60 miles in length? Hilly is OK (of course), but it doesn't need to be all hills. I prefer back roads over high ways.
Any suggestions on where to eat/drink are also welcome. I am particularly interested in locally produced foods.

I've only been there once and don't have any specific routes, but you can download a pdf bicycle map from here: https://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/...countymaps.htm It would be the Green County map. Look for the roads marked in green as well as the gray roads. These have far less traffic and are paved.
Stop by Puempel's Olde Tavern at 18 6th Ave for a Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewery. I've eaten at Chalet Landhaus Restaurant. Nice but a bit pricey for me. Here's a link to Restaurants: https://www.swisstown.com/restaurants.shtml
Sorry can't be more specific.

+2.
Those are wonderful routes starting/ending in New Glarus.
Beware that all you might be able to get is "Cold sammiches!" at Puempel's.
We had a couple of nice lunches over at Tofflers at 2nd St. and 5th Ave. The Turkey Melt was awesome.

For dinner in New Glarus we were at the Diner the night before the biking. Good food in the range of 20-30$

+1 on the BFNIC route referenced above. Also in the New Glarus area are the Sugar River and Badger State bike trails. Check out the link to see where they go: https://www.badger-trail.com/badger_trail.pdf
Both are relatively flat and free of traffic (plan for lots of crushed limestone/hardpack dirt). You should pay the State Trail pass fee ($5/day) to ride them.
You may also think about calling Earth Rider Bike Shop (https://www.earthridercycling.com/) which is located nearby in Broadhead. They'll be able to draw up some great routes for you.
As for locally grown foods- If you're up to the short drive in to Madison some night I highly recommend Harvest or L'etoile. Two of Madison's best restaurants that use only locally grown/raised produce and meats. Make a reservation soon and get ready for some good food! Harvest tends to be more adventurous and L'etoile more traditional menu items, all really fantastic. There's also the Dining Room in Montello, I've heard good things but have never been there.

I can see a problem coming up with this trip. Attention is shifted to food and drink, and biking becomes secondary....oh well, there is always next week for that long ride
Thanks for all the replies everyone
