Sorry to disappoint but I generally find seat time to be more of a problem for me than distance. As such, I'll be looking to finish the ride as quickly as possible. I'll wait for my family at the forest preserve.

In general though there have been more riders and travelling at a more reserved pace as the ride progresses.

I will be showing up only for the final loop. Partly because i'm out of shape, mostly because i'll be up very late editing photos and putting together a photo essay...a new idea i'm trying to sell to my editor (should mean more play for my photos and more money for me!) and i have about a 90 min drive to get there.

So, a panzy showing it will be...but i will be there indeed, with shoes even.

I'm still taking 6-1 against. Wasn't last year something about over sleeping?

I didn't oversleep, i just felt like **** and said "f it". I think 6-1 is being nice though, given my track record.

I'm in for the first and second legs. Probably B group. Anybody riding B group that does any fixed gear riding. I've been convincing myself that it's something that's missing from my life. So I'm thinking should I get a fixie, if so what kind, etc. etc. So...if anyone wants to ride and talk fixie, let me know. I'm at the point where my wife and kids "it's like you're addicted".

I'm in! Looks like I might make loops 2&3, but maybe only loop 3. I think I'll just cruise with the B group, maybe take some pics this time. It's not like I ever last too long with the A's anyways, but coming off of a trauma induced 4 week hiatus, and only putting in 150 or so miles since, I think I'd rather take it easy (as easy as BFNIC rides go). I may bring the 20 yo bike with DT shifters so iab's bike will have some company (it's also an 8 speed). Plus I'll have heavy wheels, and I think I'll have a headache, and my stomach will hurt from something I ate, and I'm fat.

i wondered where the hardcore BFNIC sandbaggers were. good to see they are still on form. however, why is Psi so hush hush on the sandbagging front? this scares me. either he has rules against sandbagging for his own ride or he is on form and ready to lead us out and break neck speeds. i need some race wheels. later.

Well.....don't know how to answer all of this....

1. I am riding well. Very well.
2. I don't want to scare people off with talk of a 4:30 century (colorchange? )
3. I most likely won't be able to go to the front and hammer the whole time because of feeling an obligation to make sure everything is going OK for everyone. Even with solid B groupers I know I will find myself in no man's land half wanting to check up on stuff behind and half not wanting the A's to get too far ahead.
4. ....I suck.

I'll try. I am in training all day today again . Needs to happen though...

You should be sore from yesterday's ride....you keep pushing it and kicking my ass.

What I was trying to say last night about Fall Fling is that....my ace in the hole....is that I recover extremely well.

I think you can handle it as well. Just need to find that inner "drinker/rider/self-loathing" zen. I am sure there are training programs out there that can help with that.

...might I suggest a decade of college? Worked for me.

I would like to ride all 3 loops, however with a proposed start time of 11:00 for loop 2 (3 hours later than the start time for loop 1) it's looking like a 9 hour century.

I need to be back home by the afternoon. Are there others who can't wait 45 minutes or an hour between loops?

I may surprise some of you and show up in time for loop 2. I just don't have many miles in my legs in the last 5-6 weeks. I anticipate being up to about 2am tonight though. Football game to photograph at 7, should be home by about 11:30. then about 1,000 photos to sort through and edit...then photo essay. I'm not a morning person man.

Interestingly, i think i'm gonna ride out to Hampshire this afternoon. Being a jobless bumb does have its perks...

**EDIT**
I was wrong about that drive time, it's only about 30 mins for me

JT...this is a social ride. The times were written up over 2 years ago. I have never paid attention to how long we actually wait around, but we basically wait long enough for everyone to get in, all new riders to get ready and the current ones to get gassed.

...wait a minute....you rode this last year? You know what's up. We don't stick to a clock.

For those that are new...you might want to come a little early for the legs. You could also give me a call. PM me for my cell number. I can give you an idea of where we are at.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. If we really do want to go for a quick century there will be a lot of waiting around. I get tight after waiting so long. Maybe we push through faster but then hang around at the end (while we're drinking beers).

I will bring my ghetto backpack with supplies i may need during my ride, food, drinks or repair for tires, etc.

As far as me riding the group B, i will do so, for the most likely 62 miles or whatever as my speed isn't as great and i too haven't ridden for a while as traveling for work puts me to use the almighty stationary bikes...bleh.

Also, having a refit for my stem and such from sammy's has me learning a much better posture but it has provent to be effective, so we'll put it to the test this Saturday.

See y'all there.
