3/4 Chicago LFP: a mess

1) not sure how long this stuff has been there, but there is a ton of debris (not just ice) on the trail making riding flat out dangerous between North Ave and Oak street.

I suggest bypassing this area on local streets if possible.

2) water main break at a lakefront restroom at 49th street flowing water and some ice. (I called 311)

Slim,
Some great information. Have you noticed this website? It quickly has become the go-to place for up-to-date information about LFP.
Maybe you want to post it there too?

Yeah, Active/CBF are much better about keeping this info up to speed these days. I stopped checking the CBF one a few years ago.

I'll post there "first" next time. Thanks for the reminder!

It's been there for about 2 weeks now since very high waves were washing sand and water obviously all the way up to the bike path. Probably a first....the evening it happened during the traffic reports they were warning commuters that they shut down the path from Oak Street to Illinois because with the waves it was not passable- unless you wanted to get sucked in the lake. Subsequent days it all became drifts of ice until it melted just recently.
