More riders these days?

No doubt more than a few of us are without jobs. Heard this morning that those who are still working are now averaging 33 hours a week.
I'm wondering if less work and more time has more people on the roads on their bikes?
I know the trails and roads I ride in SOutheastern Michigan are more crowded with cyclists than I've ever seen before.
Granted, I'm in Michigan, the epicenter of the economic downturn.
On the forums at my http://BikeFitness.net/community I'm seeing people talking about riding more, at all hours of the day. They're even online much more during the day, instead of at night.
True where you are????
