Unfortunately I won't be riding but I will be there driving the support van. It's always a good time and it looks like the weather should be great. They already have over 100 riders pre-registered. See you all there.

Weather is looking sucky...low to mid 50s in the morning, chance of rain all day, 10-15mph winds out of the west. Headwind going out, tailwind coming home. I think we'll ride the beaters, especially if they've been chip sealing again.

I am showing low 60's and sun from early AM through early afternoon and then only 30% chance of showers....

Gary's forecast was better than mine. It was a bit chilly at the start, and we did have some wind, but the rains held off and we had a great ride! Cheri was pleased with the 17.5mph average she ended up with and really appreciated everyone being so patient with her when the roads turned upward. Now I know how a domestique feels...all that back and forth and my legs are sore!

Thanks everyone, look forward to the next one.

Had a great ride with Chip, Leinad and there significant others. It will rank as one of my favorite rides of the year. A nice mix of up's and downs and flats and very nicely run sag stops. Thumbs Up!

as chip and gary point out it was a great day to be a cyclist in NE Ohio. This is one sweet ride (ICE CREAM) and the Medina bike club is to be commended for it. Cheri, nice job today and I'm glad to have been of service as one of your domestiques!

The best part - she beat the Aussie wheelsucker in the final sprint!

Ya Chip, once I had him in our sights, he was going down. Did you notice how he snuck out of the last rest stop ahead of everyone to see if he could hold us off?

When you guys passed him he actually cut off Cheri to jump on your wheel, so we just tucked in behind him. Then you rode him off your wheel and I ended up dropping Cheri getting around him...so I had to drop back, pick Cheri back up and chase him down again. When we turned into the tech center road, I managed to find enough left to catch and drop him...and Cheri was able to stay on my wheel as we did. Chalk one up for the good guys!

Dang it, I really need to check up on this forum. Sounds like you guys had a great time. I'm happy the weather was good for the ride.

Um I totally would've dragged this ride down to a near-screeching halt. Be glad I didn't come. But I thought of you guys and wished I was there anyway!

You would have done just fine. If the guys on Astana can domestique for two leaders, we could have too.

Chip, here's what we need to do the next time out, we all go out and find pink jerseys and have TEAM CHERI silk screened on the back. Then we lead Cheri around the ride and at the end we form a big paceline and lead her out on the finish sprint!!
