From the pictures and the location I'd say it's flat... really flat.

Wish I could but I have plans!

not totally flat. it does run over to Olgesby and the Starved Rock area. although looking at this, which i dug up from Motionbased.com, it must go down all the rollers over there.

the route

i didnt do it last year, but think the route is pretty much static. it only changes if there is construction or flooded out roads. the have a double metric option for you over achievers too.

later.

Did someone say double metric??? I may have to now, although looking at the aham23's route post, it looks like at least 75% of it would be pretty boring.

it is actually a nice little route. boring would be the Sudden Century that the JBC use to put on in and around Will County. this ride is typically well attended and can be pretty fast if you hook up with a large group. later.

I can now add a 200K (127 miles) to my long rides list, after completing the Psycho Century event in Illinois yesterday. It required 8 hours of start-to-finished time and seven hours, fifteen minutes of on-the-saddle time.

And yes, It was very satisfying.

Sorry I missed your PM. I just got the auto email this morning notifying me of the new PM. I ended up taking 6:31 of ride time to get it done riding solo.

It was a good day.

Did you ride the 200K loop? I might have seen you. Are you a taller guy on a white bike? You may have passed me near Ogiesby.

No, I'm about 5'9" and I've got a blue bike. There wasn't anyone out on the 20 mile loop when I was out there, except a dog!

Congrats

Any chance you have a cue sheet I can have copy of?
I'm thinking I'll ride at least portion of this route this weekend.

Cheers.

They didn't provide a que sheet, but I do have a map. The intersections were marked with arrows painted on the road. These arrows should be visible for a while.

I'll draw the routes on Mapmyride. What distance do you want to cover? 30, 50, 70, 100, and 126 miles routes are offered.

Michael

Thanks guys.

I'd like to do 100, don't know if I'll have the time.
I may split it up & do 50 ea. on Saturday & Sunday.

I've made the map available on my website, if anyone else wants a copy.
Hopefully I'm not violating anybody's copyright.

https://www.the-grills.com/psychos/

Cheers.
