How do you get rid of Bad JuJu?
OK, now I'm really starting to get discouraged. It's been about 7 weeks now and I'm still not 100%. Rode for 20 miles easy on Saturday and knee tendons (more hamstring muscle where tendons join) was like 98%. So I thought I would take a longer ride today, about 40 miles. Not slow but don't think over 400 watts, average about 170-180 watts, fairly easy ride (maybe 18-19 avg., haven't downloaded yet).
The knee/muscle hurts more again! Not a lot, but maybe 90%. Grrr!
I am getting WAY frustrated. How do I cleanse the bad JuJu?

I'm not sure what juju is, but a plateful of jalepenos and 6 beers usually cleanses me of everything, including my dignity.

From what I understand, Bad JuJu feeds off of fear and data.
Stop fearing time off the bike.
Stop feeding it so much useless percentage and wattage data.
Take the time to heal, CC. Maybe learn to work a loom and make a blanket or something warm for the coming winter.

you gotta let the numbers go. i was on the shelf for 3 months at the start of 2007 with a nasty IT Band injury. i found other things to do and worked on some strength/core training. if you dont let it hea now you will regret it when 2010 rolls around. later.

Have you considered getting a professional fit on your bike?
I always went with what-felt-right, and was having chronic knee pain. It seems a little silly to pay someone $150 to shift your seat, cleats and bars, but it made all the difference for me!
I was doing yoga, therapy stretches, making an appointment to see a surgeon... but a fitting with Nate Loyal in Santa Monica cured my knee problem and now I can ride as long and hard as I like.
If you're in the LA area, this guy is excellent: https://www.nateloyal.com/

One other thought... you could always put the JuJu on ignore.
His malignant stupidity makes me stronger.

Make it a pith helmet, psycho. We need to make sure CC's noggin is protected when he inevitably crashes that thing into a ditch!

I'm still recovering from a crash in early July. I recently staretd work on my core..situps, weight lifting, etc. I feel better and my lastest ride was almost pain free.

tendons take a VERY long time to heal. This is due to their structure -- more limited blood flow. 2 months may not be enough. Have you seen a PT about it? Keep the workouts very light. Take time to heal now, else you will be spending much longer healing later!

Man oh man.. I'm starting to feel bad for CC, they are really laying it on him.. on a second thought NOT
But on a serious note, use the coming Winter to heal man... you'll be a better rider next year.

I would recommend a trip to the French Quarter in NoLa as a remedy for any JuJu related issues.
