Any BFers doing the Iceman?

Title says it all how many of you will be coming to my part of the woods to do the Iceman?

I will be in the sport 40-43 class looking to win or podium. Realistically I will be lucky to hit the top ten.

The third race of the MTB Triple Crown? Would be cool but that's a brutal 7 hour drive for me.

I'll be there watching and cheering on my Hagerty teammates. Its a race I'd rather watch than ride, Its going to be crazy this year with 4000 riders.

Look me up when we are staging. My friends call me the green lantern, my kit is lime green and black and my bike has lots of green on it. Bright would be an understatement.

I have been riding the route every weekend, I ride it out at racepace and then push it hard on the way back following seasonal Roads. I still need to shave 10-12 minutes if I want to win. Looks like hill repeats just went from 4 to 6 next week.

This is also my first time in fact my first race.

Yes living close does have its advantages. I was able to get under 2 hours Sunday and still have next weekend to try and top that. This Sunday it was starting to look like the Iceman I must have passed 50 people the trail was packed. I can't wait to see 4000 riders on that course.

From what I'm getting is that Matter got on the podium but not the win. Don't know who won. Allison Dunlop won the women's.

National champion Jeremy Horgan Kobelski (Gary Fisher-Subaru) and mountain bike legend Alison Dunlap (Luna) won the Iceman Cometh cross-country on Saturday in Michigan.

Racers at the late-season event enjoyed warm weather as they attacked the 29-mile fast, flat course. It was 55 degrees at the start of the pro races.

JHK finished 12 seconds ahead of Sam Schultz, who beat out third place’s Brian Matter by one second.

In the women’s race, Dunlap, who is making her return to pro level racing this year at age 40, beat Giant’s Kelli Emmitt in a sprint, with Irmiger coming in just 11 seconds later.

Singletrack.com editor Jamie Bate is at the event. Please check back later for a complete report, a photo gallery, and complete results.

Heck yeah man! What class were you in?

When people said it was like a road race on dirt, I sort of figured it'd be easy. Whoops, I was wrong. Was able to eek out a win in Sport 19-24 though.

Nice work,

I did not do as well as planned. I ended up 35th out of 185 at 2:14:04. This was definitely the hardest I had ever rode for that long my average heart rate was 171 and I am 40 with a max of 192.

I am editing some videos and will post them later.

Here is a quick video of me going up the wall. It starts at 10% and quickly gets up to the 27% grade at the top. It isn't very long but it sure is steep.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FGGxbvaKJY

I am new to making movies and am looking for a program that doesn't lower my resolution so sorry about the quality.
