Kankakee, IL Century Ride
Anyone from northeast IL or northwest IN plan to riding the Two Rivers Century on August 8, 2010?
Event is described on this page: https://www.kvpd.com/Special-Events/special-events.htm Route map is here: https://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...27032891450738 (remarkable for it's 436 feet of climbing; midwestern flatlandia).
I'm sure the superweek crit flock is chuckling at the idea, but it's my first century; I'm pedaling like crazy (a.k.a. training) and praying for low humidity.

222 riders registered which is not bad for the inaugural event. Overcast all day, 70F at the start, 80F after noon; the humidity was tolerable until the last hour or so when the increasing southwest winds brought in a fresh load of gulf moisture (no detectable crude oil odors ;-) ). The route map was changed a bit from the original posted on mapmyride - they added loops south of Momence and Aroma Park for the century riders. I made 85 before conditioning and conditions convinced me to call it a day. Now I'm even better prepared for a fall century - so many to pick from!
