There are 5 routes. The bridge crossing takes place on Sunday morning before 10am. Though only one officially positions riders to cross the bridge, all are allowed if they get there by 10. The 5 day UP rout starts off Sunday morning 15 - 20 miles south of the bridge but the other 4 start 50 - 100 miles away that morning so you either take off early or catch a ride up on your own. Our day started in Petoskey and we got off to a late start so we were still 35 miles out at 10:00.
