milwaukee's veteran's park access to paved bike paths
I'm going to be at a pro water ski event at Milwaukee's Veteran's park lagoon on August 3 and 4 and was wondering how bike friendly that area is and if there are any paved bike paths nearby. Thanks in advance for any help.

There are paved trails all around that area. They're a part of the Oak Leaf Trail system (Maps of the Oak Leaf Trail). You can ride from Veterans Park north to Port Washington (30 miles) or if you navigate about a mile of city streets, you can ride the south side of the trail from Bay View to Grant Park. Also, nearby is the Hank Aaron State Trail which heads west almost 10 miles and connects to other parts of the Oak Leaf Trail out west, and also connects to Brookfield and New Berlin paved trails.
As far as the city is concerned, it's very bike friendly. Lots of bike lanes, most important and/or interesting things are close by, and enough alternate routes to avoid traffic if it gets bad.
I live in Milwaukee, so let me know if you have any other questions.

You can bike right to the water's edge (if someone isn't sitting there) Did it last year with my daughter. Paved trail runs literally feet from the water in spots along both long sides and one short side of the lagoon they run it on.
