camping options in Southeast Michigan
A friend and I are riding from near Mackinac all the way south through Michigan toward Toledo. In the north part of the state we will camp in state forest campgrounds, etc. Once we get south of Midland there don't seem to be a lot of camping areas so we are considering (with permission, of course) public parks, fairgrounds, church property, etc. Our route south of Midland will generally take us through. St. Charles, Chesaning, Durand, Byron, Howell, Pinckney, skirting Ann Arbor to the west, Saline, and St. Petersburg. Any thoughts on good camping spots or experience with bike touring through this area would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
