Try your local Craigslist. I see a ton of great condition FX models for sale. Usually people want a bit too much for them but I would think you could get the price down substantially when you show them the reality of the "real" price it should be.

I was looking on CL 3 weeks ago for a 2015- 2013 Trex 7.3 FX. The price was $500 for a 2013 in good shape with a few extras that i did not need.Made a 400 offer he would not move from 500. It is still for sale as of today in nj.
I ended buying a new 2015 for 580. I probably could have waited for the 2016 to come out maybe go on sale in late June but wanted to ride NOW!!!

I'm not trying to convince you to buy new or used but remember, if you buy a used bike they usually come with a few extras like water bottle cages and even possibly a computer. All those little "extras" add up when you need to buy them separately.

Used bikes usually come minus the warranty...

Why would you want a water bottle LOL water bottle cages are cheap?? You Hardly ever you get a computer unless the prices very high.Plus no warranty buy as is . New saddle maybe not for you?

I'm not really sure what your point is.

Many times people who sell used bikes include accessories that if bought separately can cost well over $100 more over the price of a new bike. I've seen plenty of used bikes for sale with saddle bags, bottle cages among various other upgrades. I'll have to give you the warranty issue remark but if you're diligent and examine the bike carefully I really don't think there is much to worry about.

For Me i rather buy new than save 100. Plus there is a chance the bike is stolen. That's only my 2cents.

2015 7.3 FX - $659 brand new. I bought mine a few months ago. Wouldn't consider selling it for only $400.
