Trek 8.4 DS Upgrades . Help!
Hello fellow forum members , I am a newbie when it comes to Road/Mountain bikes but an expert on bmx . That being said I just purchased a trek 8.4 dual sport and I would like to know if the Shimano Zee BR-M640 disc brake would be compatible along with the Shimano Deore XT M772 Rear Derailleur/Shimano Deore XT M771 Front Derailleur. Thank you very much

I assume you have the parts on hand, since it would be silly to buy a bike just to upgrade the derailleurs and brakes...
I know nothing about the brakes, but I believe they could differ in mounting, disc diameter capabilities etc... However, it is my understanding that any 9 speed mountain components are pretty much interchangeable, so you should be good to go on the derailleurs...
