favorite flat pedal and cycling shoe
I know many of the hybrid riders ride various types of platform pedals.
So I'm wondering what pedals people favor and what shoe they wear.
I'm currently riding the stock alloy pedals that came with my specialized crosstrail comp.
I use Northface hiking sneakers. combined they provide a pretty grippy and secure contact,
but I may upgrade to a pedal with more pins. I"ll likely get new shoes at that time also.
thanks

I wear Five Ten Freerider Elements. Worn them for about 1.5 years now with no problems. My feet are quite narrow and this shoe actually fits. If you have wide feet, they might be too snug. I got my from Zappos.
Five Ten Freerider Elements Team Black - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways
You can also find them on Amazon.
Amazon.com: Five Ten Men's Freerider Elements Bike Shoe: Clothing
Zappos no longer has the all black shoes that I have but Amazon does.

I ride the MKS Lambda pedals with Solomon trail running shoes of some kind. Sometimes MKS touring pedals.

Whatever composite pedals came with my Globe Carmel. Montrail low top hiking shoes. Sometimes thin soled Eastland boat shoes. I'll probably wear my old Herman Survivors boots this winter. I adjust the saddle height as needed.
No problem with grip, but occasionally on hills I can feel a bit of inefficiency, so I might add some Power Grips or whatever straps are easy to adjust for different shoes. But I don't see myself going back to toe clips or clipless pedals/shoes.

I got the five ten freerider sneaker and am very happy with it. solved the grip problem.
But I"m still considering changing pedals. Like the look and specs of this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FXY18Q8/...P70CEC7X&psc=1

For platform pedals, I have been buying and using these. Well made, spin easily, and work well with cycling shoes. I just bought my third set, and the price is hard to beat. So far the first two sets are holding up very well. Probable not the lightest, but I'm not racing, so what do I care.
