I use Forte Campus pedals. I've had them for about 5 years and I love them. I can choose to wear my cleats or regular shoes.

I made the switch to SPDs from the stock plastic pedals - I use the Shimano PD-M530 (25th anniversary ones! woo) which are really affordable, like under $30. For shoes I use a pair of Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro IV.

After a couple hundred miles I switched the stock pedals to Shimano A530 SPD pedals. 1,000+ miles on them now.
I use the SPD side 95% of the time, but there are times I just where a low top hiking shoe and use the plain side of the pedal.
Yes, the downside to a combo pedal is needing to flip it around sometimes to clip in, but I haven't found that to be a huge issue. The flat side of the pedal also comes in handy after maintenance when you just want to test something quickly, like brakes, shifting, seat adjust, etc.
Thanks to everyone for posting their pedals, I have learned a few things looking at your favorites.
