Tire Pressure Question

My Bontrager H2 700 x 32 tires show recommended tire pressure from 65-100. What would be the ideal pressure? I had a blowout on my front tire when they were first installed and I blame it on the fact that the pressure was about 90. I want to be safe but I also don't want to sacrifice speed.

Pinched tube most likely caused the blow out.

How much do you weight?

I have been using H5 for a few years now which state 60 to 80. I use 90 psi as I'm quite light (about 60kg). I've never had an with a tyre blowing out through pressure.

I have some Bontrager H2 26 x 1.5 that say up to 90 psi. Ran them anywhere from 65 to 95. I find 70 - 75 is best for me with them, I weigh substantially more. Anything more is just rougher riding with no better rolling ability.

Lots of views on tire pressure - I found this article very useful as a 'starter' and then adjust to personal preference. https://janheine.wordpress.com/2010/...-and-pressure/ . The chart which I use as the 'starting guide' is near the end of the article.

Personally I think tires tend to be an under-appreciated part of the overall cycling experience. I do not know the Bontrager H2 tire. I installed good old Marathon Supremes on my hybrid and no complaints (or, touch wood, punctures!)
