I'm gonna ride it today and see how I like the new position of the handlebars. If I do, I will get rid of the spacers and put them above the stem. If I don't, the stem is going back how it was.

Alpha, if your goal is to go fast you should incrementally lower the handlebar and then use it for some time to get used to it.
In the end you can chop off some stearing tube and get rid of the spacers altogether.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I rode it today for 28 miles with the lower handlebars. I was able to keep a slightly higher speed, as I am more aero.

I took my bike into the LBS because I wanted narrower bars (because my bars were about 6 inches wider than my shoulders. The LBS guy said he would cut off some of the bar, for FREE (IMHO, the best price for anything in the world!). It took him about 30min to get it right. He cut off like 1.5in from each side. He would have cut off more, but I needed enough space for all the things in my cockpit (shifters, brake levers, cyclocomputer, iPhone mount). It's a bit crowded now.

Edit: Yes, the stem is currently aligned. I was not standing on the bike when I took the picture, so it's slightly offset.

Edit 2: I forgot to say, my cyclocomputer finally hit 1k miles! I has already gone about 1100 miles by the time it hit 1k. The reason that there is a ~100mi difference is because I accidentally reset my cyclocomputer when I had about 100 miles on the bike (I leaned on it and put pressure on it with my elbow).

I'd suggest buying (or swapping) a different stem so the angle isn't so harsh sloping down. ie. try flat The shops here have "spares" bins that we can buy componants cheap so my guess is it's the same over there.
Then start by dropping the spacers a cm, test try test try. Only after a few moths of trying out, then cut the steerer if you want to.
congrats on the 1000 mil.

I'm not sure any shops around here have spares bins.. But I haven't really looked, asked or checked. I think my stem is fine. The position of the handlebars is the same as it would be if there were no spacers and a flat stem.

I don't ride much in the city. I mostly hit trails and my commute to work is a mix of trails and asphalt, but it's good info to know. I haven't bought them, but will keep that in mind when looking at tires. How bout the Continental Travel Contact Reflex Tire? That's my other choice. The tires I have on there now are 700 x 45 and was looking for something in the mid to high 30s and the Conti Travel's seem to be another decent option.

Do you not realize how large and obnoxious your signature is? The fact that a one-line post from you takes up my entire screen is ridiculous.

I don't know how I did it, but I do not see any of these "signatures" people speak of ... I might have disabled the feature when signing up cause I usually do that since I hate these "signatures" taking up space and cluttering forums in general.
As said I don't know where speciafically, but I'm sure you can disable 'em too

I just put polka dots of reflective tape on my front wheel. It took so long, that I didn't have time to do the back wheel. Another day, I guess...

I have been lurking around BF for the past a few months. today I finally finish building this thing. Everything got from Ebay and Amazon (except the handlebar is taken from an old bike lying on the sidewalk), All components are low-mid level. In order to save money, I didn't match the colors, so it looks weird.

You bought one very similar, but had enough sense to return it. I didn't need this saddle, but a couple of my saddles are showing signs of wear, so I bought this in anticipation of future need. When the saddle on my Cannondale is worn out, I'll replace it with the WTB Vigo that came with this bike.

I didn't like that picture, the saddle blurry and flowers in focus. I went back today (I go there every day M-F) and shot it again and I edited the post with a new picture. Does it look sexy in a sexy kinda way now? If not, I'm returning it.

I took your advice and replaced the quick release collar before upgrading the seat.

Whitening up my ride. I would have bought that white Liguigas saddle but they sold out before I pulled the trigger. I've decided the black with white stripes looks better anyway. Haha.

The rails and the under side plastic is white, for the benefit of small animals or people under three feet tall to enjoy looking at.

Not sense, it was lacking in comfort. I got it because it was supposed to alleviate the pain in my hip. It did no such thing, so I returned it and adjusted the angle of my current saddle. The angle adjustment made it just fine.

Plus, the saddle I got was $140. If my research is correct, the saddle you got was $50. BIG price difference there.

I was wondering why the image that I quoted of your post said "the image has been deleted."

Then return it, because it's never going to look sexy in a sexy kinda way. Ever. No saddle will. Hehe just kidding. Keep it. It's a very nice looking saddle.

MSRP is $90, but most on-line vendors are charging $60. Probably about $125 at bike shops. Haha.

Just finished with the spots of reflective tape on my rims. I will take a picture after I take a ride today. I am waiting for my bib shorts and jersey to come from nashbar. I just checked the tracking info. It is on the truck for delivery. Mail usually comes at 11:00am-12:00pm. So I should be out for a ride pretty soon!

It does not look weird to me. Nice bike - geometry is right to my taste. If it would be my bike I would change fr. suspension to black steel rigid (very cheap upgrade) if you are worry about color coordination and do not need the soft feel in the front.
(is it a black tape you covering something with? )

locking on post will scratch on that spot and the seattube often... the suspension is sr suntour, got it for $20 on Ebay. I am still looking for rigid constantly but couldnt find anything near that price. I think I'll keep it for awhile...
