New to the forum and just getting into cycling. On account of work I'm a bit of a road warrior so I traded some Hilton points for a bicycle and this is what I came up with:

For riding trails in the Philly metro area and seeing where it takes me. So far, so good. I have a few other accessories and a repair kit mounted on the bike now not pictured but it's doing the trick so far. Hopefully we'll see some of you on the trails.

Regarding the tires; after looking the internet for maximum clearance I found that a couple of Seek owners claimed that nothing beyond 700x38 will fit in rear triangle. Well - WRONG! It fits 700x42 tires just fine and clearance is still in saftey zone.

Regarding the tires 2; first impressions are that I should bought a narrower tires and gain a little bit more speed
These are light, well rolling but to wide for road riding...

One of my biggest wishes was return to V-brakes. From the first time I used disc brakes I didn't like them. Although Seek brakes weren't making any problems I still had desire for V's... Nice custom paint job!

I was shopping for cables the other day and discovered that these exist, thought it might be of interest for your top tube:

    Are

Nice bikes. Looks like you've gone from a trail bike to a flat bar road bike. Are you planning on road style handle bars? Or are you sticking w/ the flat bars?

I have been reading stuff from this site for years, because it always comes up in bike related searches, but this is my first post. I got a Crosstrail Sport with disc brakes last year, and have put many miles on it since then. I haven't done anything to it except put the rack, bag, bottle cage, and lights. I need to get some new tires, and I have some fenders on the way. Otherwise I have thoroughly enjoyed the bike. Here is a pic:

I have been thinking about getting a bike that is a little more road oriented, but still with a more upright riding position, so last week I ordered a Trek FX 7.7. It should be here later this week. I am pretty excited because of how much I enjoyed the test ride. They didn't have my size in stock, so they had to order it in. I will post a pic of it once I get it.

Thanks for all the great information and pictures!

I thought I would post a pic of my Dr. Fine since I swiped the tires off my wife's Sporterra...37-622 Continental Double Fighter 2s..only measure 35mm on my rims. They seem just right for the roads I ride on here in South GA.

I haven't put my fenders on yet because I hate the drag. I'm considering drops and smaller chainrings for a possible tour this fall.

Soma Double Cross with Apex stuff, Velocity hubs and rims. My last "hybrid" was really just a cheap Fuji MTB with slicks, four inches too small for me. I rode it anyway... but this bike feels like heaven!
