I have to agree. I prefer subtle touches of red on black, so reducing it has made a difference for the better. Thinking about changing the cables back to black in the near future.

In 2008 I bought a Schwinn Tourist from Target (not the most knowledgeable bike purchase ever made), and over the years as I've learned more about bikes in general, I've built her back up from scratch to be a Frankenbike of sorts. The only things still stock on this bike besides the frame and fork are the seatpost, derailleur + hanger, and the stem. Since the original flatbar setup didn't actually fit me, this setup allows for a lazy commute into work (at a 45-degree posture angle). The frame is what kept me coming back...I love the look of it, and it's one of my few favorite aluminum frames. The added components make her not-quite-so-light, but she's still lighter than my steel beasties.

Added some saddle bags which gives me enough space to carry a change of clothes. I'll need to add another bag on top to carry my shoes though or keep them in my locker. I'll have to figure it out.

2009 Cannondale Adventure 5 jumbo frame (six foot three). Commuter (1.1 miles one way), some road stuff, rails-to-trails. Great bike for my needs.

Been incredibly busy and slightly neglectful of the new toy, but so far I've got Ergon GR2 Grips on, an alloy cage, and changed the stock tires for some Vittoria Rubino's (wow, what a huge difference over the stock ones!) and have a cycling computer to install - and a new saddle is on its way (stock is very uncomfortable).

Also love this simple Racor wall hanger.

few new bits and pieces on my Seek
went to my LBS and bought SRAM X7 components - medium cage rear derail derailleur and matching shifter. Shifting is about the same as it was with Shimano Deore components but medium cage derailleur made huge difference regarding chainslack. Very happy! Added some new Ergon's GS2 aswell...
Next stop - carbon fork and new wheels.

X7 parts >

Ergon's >
