Just picked up today, 13 Quick SL. It is quite easier to go faster than my 13 Crosstrail , but not as safe in the wet.

^^^ Yep, its all about the tire on wet pavement. Not going to change it, got a Crosstrail for the crap and slick roads and the Quick for the fast runs. Perfect set up.

Just got a new Diamondback Insight 1 yesterday and got a chance to ride it today. I love it!

In the dark and in the day. Like the bike so much, I bought a smaller frame one for her. She had a mountain/comfort bike, but on this one she has really picked up her speed and enjoyment level.

2013 Crosstrail Elite Disc, returned the Quick SL 3. I rode it for half an hour and I only like bikes with a suspension fork.

I swapped out the stock 38 tires on the crosstrail for 32 size and really like the improved nimble feel and easier pickup in speed. Big visual difference.

Sadly I haven't changed anything on my hybrid for a long time. For the simple fact I love it as it is.

So have you ever loaded up your good camera in a hip bag, ridden 10 miles to take some photos only to discover the batteries were dead? And had to take a photo, complete with lens distortion, low resolution, and bad focus with your crappy camera phone ? Yeah, me neither... :innocent: :D ;)
2014 Specialized Vita Sport I've had for 6 weeks, back to cycling after 35 years. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7433/1...226b788d_b.jpg |

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Been inspired by all of you experienced bikers. Thanks!! :)
Anyway this is my hybrid, mainly used for commuting around the city (Singapore). It's a 2009 Felt QX75. Mostly stock components, except for the Conti Gatorskin front tyre, planning to upgrade the rear to the Gatorskin soon. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=356709 -Mike- |

:) yeah, it's giving me an incentive to upgrade my phone. The camera was never that great in it even when it was new 5 years ago. After seeing the photos friends take with their Nokias and I-Phones (and other ones, I'm sure) it starts to make sense. I always have my phone with me when cycling, and I could have a good camera-all in one. I was a bit frustrated that day after lugging that big camera around only to find dead batteries. I'm usually on top of those things (grin)

I think it's been over a YEAR since i have posted here. Anyway, here is my DS 8.4 with new mods.
Crank Brothers: Iodine Carbon Bar cut to 720mm Cobalt 3 80mm Stem CObalt 2 Seat Post Iodine 2 29" wheels Eggbeater 3 Pedals Nashbar Fr1 Saddle Shimano Deore 9spd Shifters/brakes/crank Slx Front and Rear Derailer, 11-34 Cassette Rockshox Reba 80mm Odi ROgue Grips Schwalbe Knobby Nick Front Maxxis Ikon Rear I have been on the dirt a lot as you can see. With the SLX front derailer, it allows me to run a 2.2" rear tire with no rubbing. Basically i can run XC tires in the rear all day. Thank goodness! https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/...48716024_n.jpg BTW, good to see giantcfr1 still here! How is Kyoto these days? Cheers! 'Z |

Hey ZG, I love to see how your bike has evolved. Surprisingly, I too now have a Trek which I'm just starting off modifying. I guess I'm starting your journey a couple of years behind.
