Is it as fast as it looks?

Actually it's not too light, about 12,5 kg( with the kickstand) and the gears is clearly like the trekking bikes have , but for me it's ok.

Here are my 2 Treks. Both CL finds. The green one is a CroMo 1995 850 Mountain Track with 26x1.5 Calderas, an XLC adj stem, Origin 8 bar ends and Serfa's grips. With the STX RD and Alivio FD, it's completely silent and shifts like buttah'. I have to use the bell cause you can't hear it coming.

The blue one is a 2007 7300 Multitrack, all stock save for trekking bar, Alex19 rims(on it when I bought it used) and 700x25 Vittoria Zaffiro Pro IIs. The SRAM X7 stuff is not as slick shifting as the green ones STX.

Some really nice rides showing up on here. I guess hybrids are still a really popular style. Thanks for posting. Keep them coming.

It's been a long time since I bought myself a new bike and I've been wanting a hybrid for a fitness/commuter for some time now.
My Escape 2 finally came in and I couldn't be happier. Of course I made a couple of tweaks but that's me obsessing as usual.
I added Crank Bros Mallets, Romin Comp Gel saddle, Cateye Strada Slim and Cateye lights, Ergo grips. I wonder how long before I find something else to tweak???

Okay, new member here, here's my DB Trace 'Frankenbike'. Well, not really a Franken..., but I have done a few things, like chop 4 inches off the handlebars, installed a Brooks B17 saddle, a Topeak rear rack, Bar ends, Bar wrap, and (maybe soon) downsizing from 40c tires to 32c's. I've had it since early July, and so far it is a great bike, albeit a touch heavy, but it'll fit the bill for fitness runs (daily 12 to 20-milers) or longer-distance weekend stuff. Last weekend we did 35 mis along a very windy North Carolina coast, and one of the guys had a Fuji Roadie with 25c tires and was getting blown all over - but this beast stayed on point. So I think, once it's dialed in right, it may just become a great trekker......

Hmmmm.... Looks suspiciously like a Giant frame, doesn't it?

I will soon replace the twist shifter with a Alfine 8 speed trigger and may put the orginal cranks back on when I can cut that 52t ring off. No weight gain and still at 29lbs and rides nicely!

It's hard to take good pics of a silver bike outside!

About a year ago I had changed out the stem and drop bars with a Velo Postino Handlebar and riser stem. I have the original Bontrager Saddle from my Sawyer and original peddels from my Kona.
Wow! Great job imagining the possibilities.

Looks great except the crank looks to modern for the rest of the bike.

Thanks! Been planning on doing something like this for a while and was surprised at how well and quick it all came together. I agree on the cranks & will soon put the old ones back on. It is so much more joyful to ride now!

I like them both, but especially the 850, it's very like my 720. Now I want a 850 to add to my stable too.

Can't beat the clean lines (and ride) of those cro-mo frames. If a 720 comes up on CL, I may have trouble resisting it.

I had a 1994 820 SingleTrack in purple and a 1995 730 MultiTrack in green. Both cro-mo made in USA frames.
