This exact spot is the actual top of the hill so I'm riding on flat road

Cannondale H300 Cad1. It lived out in my uncle's carport for a few years so I cleaned it up and replaced the shifters, grips, tires and tubes. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=422588

2015 Sirrus Elite Carbon Disc
Wow @nehoria. Thanks for posting your new bike. I am really stoked seeing this. I am waiting for mine to arrive, supposedly tomorrow. There seem to be very, very few of these based on google hits, and searches on various boards.
(the bike: http://i.imgur.com/PriRwdi.jpg Just too cool ) Are you planning a rear rack? |
Bought this in 2010 (last year they were made here in the US), Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra Solo. Very versatile bike and the disc brakes allow me to swap 26" tires and 700cc tires pretty easily. Has mounts for a rack and 3 sets of bottle cage bosses. Fairly light but solid build that can take a lot of abuse. It rekindled my cycling obsession and since then I've added a 3 more bikes: road, cyclcross, and a fixed/freewheel. I have to draw the line there for now :)

Still, freakishly cool. That lefty still blows my mind for whatever reason. Cool ride, man.

The bike is a hybridized Specialized Hardrock GX from the early nineties rescued from gathering dust in my grandad's garage (belonged to my cousin, I think), with Vittoria Randonneur tyres (good, although sometimes a tiny bit more traction would be in order when off-road) and a trekking handlebar (wisest purchase ever, with a straight bar I was on a superman position, stretched out like hell, and changing hand positions is a bliss). Now I need to get a new crankset, since the one I have not only is small as hell (38-28-18), but also I can't get into the big ring so I'm stuck at 28.

I saved 550 grams.
I love my Raceface narrow/wide chainring. Interesting point if anyone is planning to do the same. The teeth on the Raceface N/W chainring are longer than the standard Shimano teeth. I was so lucky (fluke only) that I ordered a 34 tooth, instead of the 36 tooth it was replacing. The new one clears the chainstay by only 2mm. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psa8verts7.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psmuzuiqqt.jpg |

I'm a real bang for the buck kind of guy. My science background means that marketing doesn't mean much to me. Therefore I have a stock Specialized Sirrus Sport bought in October 2014. Had been away from cycling for 20+ years and did not know how much I missed it until I started seriously considering buying a new bike. Was like a kid at Christmas. Had been a LONG time since I was so excited. I rode less expensive bikes, and I rode expensive bikes (I have access to a couple Specialized carbon frame bikes at work whenever I want). Lots of bikes, lots of brands, and this one was hard to beat at any price. I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS BIKE. &#^$ of allot more fun than the running I had been doing the previous 18 months.

'90 Trek 750 Multitrack (TT lugged steel) converted to drop bars with bar-end shifters and Shimano 8sp, in winter and D2R2/Honey One Hundred/F2G2 configurations. I used to run Schwalbe Marathon 700X45s before the Clement X'Plor USH 700X40mm. Lots of tire & fender clearance in those old hyrids! I guess Trek was making gravel grinders for years before the term and category became popular;).

This is my current 52cm Flat-bar Road Hybrid - it's a Scott Speedster S50 FB. The bike is on Shimano R500's and is currently on E'bay because I have decided to change my 50cm Bianchi Via Nirone7 Alu Carbon into a Flat-bar Road Hybrid by retaining the Campagnolo Veloce kit and using the recently introduced Campagnolo Veloce Flat-bar levers. This will take place when the space that is occupied by the Scott is vacant. All parts for the conversion are present and correct!!!!! My other Hybrid is a recently fully refurbished Benotto Modelo 850. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=430258 The bike was a sadly neglected and very seriously bodged example of a once beautiful Italian machine. It is now enjoying a new lease of life and with a total re-stove enamelled finish and brand new Benotto Pantograph chromed fork. She is now running on a Triple Stronglight ring set-up :- 50:40:30 with Thorn 140mm cranks and running an 8spd Shimano Hyperglide 12:13:15:17:19:21:23:25 selection of sprockets on a Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport rear dérailleur. The running-gear is all controlled with the Campagnolo friction levers mounted on the down-tube bosses. |

Schwinn Tourist purchased from Target over a year ago marked down to $78.00. Not exactly sure whether or not it was the reason behind the discount but the back wheel was bent. I figured I'd take my chances with it and replace it. Schwinn's warranty hotline sent me a new wheel free of charge. Granted, it's slightly different spoke style but it's done fine and was true. I replaced the tubes and installed some velox rim tape and eventually added Specialized grips and bar ends. I've only logged about 500mi all road on it but it's done fairly well and the rims have held up fine. The stock seat was pretty abysmal so I just recently got a WTB Pro V saddle which feels much better albeit currently riding indoors on a trainer due to sub zero temps and snow we've been experiencing here lately.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=432048http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=432049 Shots during ride to Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook NJ (flipped stem) http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=432055http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=432056 Not huge fan of current grip/bar end setup. I'm thinking of either getting longer/thicker bar ends or go bullhorns w/ foam or tape. |
I love this story. Schwinn is the best! I've had my Median hybrid from Target ($199) for about two years and put 10,000 happy miles on it.
Schwinn sent me a new rear wheel when I told them I popped three spokes on it going up a hill. It was darn nice of them to do it considering all the miles on it and the steepness of the hills I put it through. As a matter of fact, I would put a plug in for Target, as well. I offhandedly told them that my chain gave out within the first two months I had the bike and they said, no problem, bring the bike in and we'll replace it (the bike)! Darn nice of them, too, but I couldn't do it. First, because of all the miles I'd put on the chain and, second, because I became instantly attached to the bike, lol. Hope you have a lot of great rides with your Tourist. It looks like a fairly light bike (under 30 lbs) and should last for years. BTW, I live in north Jersey. In the better weather, I like to ride bike paths and canal trails and the hills in Harriman, NY. Maybe we can go for a ride sometime. Ron |

I'm really new to bike riding, it has been around 8 years since I last rode. How ever for the past 3 months I have been enjoying my AnyRoad Bike. I totally love it so much as it is so versatile. I have had a few slip ups and crashes but every time I'm riding I'm getting more proficient. I recently added another bottle cage and a small little mirror on my right handle bar as well as clip less pedals. :D

@itzwill very nice bike. I see with your bar to seat relationship that you could remove the stem spacers. ;)

Ron That being said, I was told that the components were inferior to bikes being sold at bike shops and I've found that to be true. My BB is creaking and popping like crazy, but I'm a large guy (6'5" / 250 ) riding a standard size mass market bike so that probably needs to be factored as well. I'm now back into riding my older road bikes and keep the Trailway as my beater bike. It still rides fine, it's just making noise and at some point the BB will need to be replaced, but I'll probably be able to call Pacific and get a replacement free when that time comes. http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/o...l/DSC02639.jpg |

Mine's not as cool and custom as most of what other people have, but it's my first real bike and I love it. I just took it out for my first ride this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Here's a picture just after purchasing it and bringing it home. I'm hoping this will become my first bike of many.http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=433867
