Its an unbranded China MTB fork from Aliexpress. I believe its actually a TOSEEK brand. It turned out to be 18mm longer than spec. I wanted a crown to axle measurement that matched the same on the 26" suspension fork it replaced.

The wheel is a Wheel Master 700c wheel with Zac 19 rim (double wall), stainless 14g spokes, 6 bolt disc hub and a Sunlite Kahn 700 x 50 tire (aka Kenda K935 ).

Added a 203mm disc and new BB5 caliper (I only went with the 203mm disc because it looks cool on the 29" tire). Used a 160 to 203 adapter to mount the caliper. The bikes frame came with both V mount and disc brake mounts for the rear wheel. So it was easy to switch to rear disks, but did have to order new wheel with 6 bolt disc hub. The rear disc is 160mm and the caliper just bolted on.

My advice from personal experience with 203mm disc adapters is Do NOT use the Origin8 Torq-Lite disc brake adapter. It does not clear BB5 and many other calipers where the bowed section is. The chamfered faces do not match the caliper or post mounts on fork. When tightening the bolts, it would rock in and out from the disc.

Instead, use this style mount. Its cheaper, more rigid, puts less stress on the forks post mounts, and never had a problem using them on 3 different bikes. This one works perfectly with the carbon fork. Doesn't have to be this brand adapter. I've used them from different companies, they are all the same.

BTW, I just came across the tag that came on the 700c wheel. It is Wheelmaster part number 66825.

Couldn't find much info on the 2017 KHS Ultrasport 3.0 but it fit so well I went for it. LBS had them on sale ($550) regularly $659. Super happy with the choice, so far. I'll take it out for an extended ride this weekend. Check it out...

That is a great looking bike! Pretty well equipped for $550 too! It could go all over the place- pavement, multi use trails, dirt roads, gravel, and even some nice singletrack would be no problem with those tires and that short travel fork to take the edges off. Really nice!

I like that. Noticed a few 29'er bikes are tucking the back tire in and curving the seat tube around it. Assuming it to shorten up the wheelbase. The last 29'er I had was full suspension so the back tire hung way out back, and the crank was so close to the front tire it would hit my shoe on turns if I didn't have the ball of my foot on the pedal.

new 40mm summer tires should keep me out of the nightclubs & casinos. don't know if it's my eyes but can't get a nice photo in this dim morning light

That looks like a totally different bike - Love it!

I realise that top tube bag is effective, but it is also covering up some attractive design elements of your bike's paint scheme.


I always enjoy looking down at my top tube and seeing the graphics on it, as it just reinforces the notion that I have a quality bike that I am riding.

I was briefly bummed by that, but it holds my phone for activity tracking purposes really well, and I like being able to see my elapsed time/distance clearly right there. I enjoy the quality feel of my bike enough :)

Are those Bontrager-branded seat posts? Are they aluminum or are they carbon? I'm not sure I've seen them brand aluminum seat posts before.
