Very cool bike with the long stem and the weird handlebar
Is that your performance hybrid, qmsdc15?

Yep, the same bike I showed in post #5 of this thread!

I've since replaced the frame, pedals and bar ends. Handlebar and stem are stock.

It must be the red pedals!

Cooler looking but less functional. I'm afraid to bolt a rear rack to the carbon wishbone, much less clamp the trailer hitch to it!

My hybridized Bobcat Trail in front of a parked car.

I've added a rear rack, pump holder and reflective stickers.

Nice pic q. Any chance you have a link to a bigger version? That looks like it could be a nice desktop background....

Wow very artistic. I first missed your bike as it blended in well with the image.

giantcfr1, at first glance, I thought you were running a SRAM shifter with a Shimano rear derailleur. I see now that you have an X-7 (?) for the front shifter and a Shimano shifter for the rear shifter. Am I seeing that correctly? Regardless of the shifters, that looks like a killer bike.

Thankyou for your kind words.
Yep, you see right. The bike came stock with Sram X-7 shifters, Sram X-7 rear deraileur and Shimano Deore front deraileur.
I wanted to replace the rear MTB cassette and long cage X-7 deraileur with my spare Shimano short cage road deraileur and road cassette. The Sram X-7 shifters are very smooth to operate so I wanted to retain them. The problem is Sram rear deraileurs have a ratio of 1:1 BUT shimano is 2:1, therefore the Shimano / Sram combination on the rear isn't compatible unless you want to only use every second cog on your cassette. I had a spare Deore shifter so I married it up to the rear Shimano deraileur.
No problems with the front Shimano deraileur / Sram shifter combination.

Yeah, that threw me off for a second because in the pics of your drivetrain, I clearly saw a Shimano rear derailleur. I saw the SRAM shifter and wondered how you got that to work with the different ratios. I love my SRAM X-7 rear on my Gary Fisher. I have some X-9 shifters waiting to be put on, sitting on my shelf right now. The bike came with X-5 shifters on it, I just want something a little faster.

Ok I got out to the bike shop today and weighed it as ridden. NOT LIGHT, but it's actually lighter than I first guessed.

I love this bike - a Kona Dew Drop. Unfortunately, I think they discontinued it because of the drop handlebars, but that is the reason I chose it. They are much more comfortable to me. Kona still has other cool hybrids, but I like this one.

I have to admit I just bought a road bike [ducks and covers], but I still need this bike. I use it for hauling stuff back from the farmers market or lunch or anything. It really is a work horse and quite sturdy without weighing a ton. The disk brakes are nice, too. I did change out the seat. The new seat is like a lazy boy or barcalounger. I almost wish I could put it on the road bike. LOL.

Everyone, I want to make it clear that I didn't post the weight of my bike to start a competition on whom has the lightest bike. I was just responding to a request from another member.
