As we all know Japanese enjoy taking photos, but strangely shy off taking photos inside business premises. I'll do the sneaky shots though when I'm down there next. d(^.^)

No doubt, your local bike shops there would have a similar range.

Secondly, good luck with the "bargin" specialized build. That thing is incredible. If you're ever over here in Kyoto, I'll take you to my local bike shop. Unfortunately I can't take photos in there (yet) but the bikeporn in there is dreamy.
Glad it helped & thanks! i'll take you up on that if in your neck of the woods =)
I'll keep you posted if I start piecing together the Venge build... the first shipment of Venge's at the local shop are all spoken for... but I'm pretty sure these will be the "Specialized" Venge, NOT the "McLaren" Venge... So my search for a Chinese copy of the Venge frame (or something very similar) begins.....

No they didn't tell me that I can't. To be honest I haven't had the need to take photos of products in a bike shop before because I can go back any time to check on prices / quality etc. Also "if" the shop staff did tell me that photography is prohibited, I wouldn't be offended and go as far as telling them no sale, as I would respect their policy. Everything they, or any other bike shop sell, would be on the internet for me to view and research anyway.

Not yet ... might do it one of these days.
"de muur" is not far from my house so I do it about every other week or so if I find the time.

Thanks ... the sharpness isn't perfect but it was taken with a very basic cell phone so I can't complain.

40+ km/h on a hybrid!

Today I flipped my spacers and my stem to drastically lower my handlebar:

The stem is a 30 Ritchey and so now it points 30 down:

My bike, resting on the central square of Geraardsbergen after it's new record:

Distance: 10,1 km or 6.3 miles
Average speed: 40,4 km/h or 25.25 MPH

I'm going to keep this configuration for a while and see how my bad back copes with it ...
If it's bad I'll put it back as it was and keep it that way.
If it's good ... I'll also put it back as it was ... and start looking for a second hand TT-bike

Start looking for a sponsor. Your bike looks wicked with the stem flipped.

My GT Fitness series. I was not sure if it was going to be fun & reliable due to the low cost, but I ended up really liking this. Also used as a commuter.

(^o^)/ Hold on, hold on. Seriously you are flaming fit.

If the weather is ok tomorrow morning I'll head off before work and look for a decent 10km stretch.
I can't fit my aero bars as my hybrid's bars are oversize, and my aero bars aren't.
My prediction for me is 27 - 29 km/h over 10 kms and max speed 45km/h on my hybrid. I think that'll be the best my 46-year-old body can muster up. (of course I'm hoping for a miricle)
