I've never uploaded video. I would like to speed it up so it only takes 15 minutes to watch, but I don't know how. If I did that I'd lose the sound though, which is pretty funny me gasping and weezing as I chased down a girl rider over the course of nearly two miles, and then trying to talk to her after I caught up at a red light. I sound like a crazy person, maybe I am one. She dropped me like I was tied to a post when we got to "the hill". I held onto the back of a truck for a few blocks.

Maybe I can edit it down some...

For editing and simple video manipulation there has long been a nifty little freeware program called "virtualdub".
It's from the old days so you don't even need to "install" it just execute it

I've been here over a year, I suppose it is time to post some pictures of my ride. It is a 2009 Fuji Absolute 1.0 with a Jones Loop H Bar, Topeak rear rack and trunk bag, Shimano M540 SPD pedals, and Velocity A-23 rims. It is shown here with Michelin Pro3 Race tires, 25 mm, that I used for my first century ride. I may go with something wider now for general riding. The Michelin's do plump up to 28 mm on those rims which is pretty good for the trails and paths I normally ride but I may want something more bulletproof for day to day riding.



Then there is a shot of it hanging from the garage ceiling on one of those lifts you can by in most hardware stores, home centers, or farm stores in the US. Made in China so I imagine you can get them in other countries too, I just don't know what kinds of stores to direct you to. They work well and our home happens to have about 11 foot high ceilings in the garage so no trouble walking under the bike when it is up there. With lower ceilings you would have to pick your "hangout" location carefully to avoid having it in the way.



Here is a closer shot of the Jones Loop H Bar. Not for everyone (what bar is?) but I like it a lot. The yellow thing is a Sky Mounti inclinometer. The bell is for warning other path users of my impending approach, at least those who are not wearing iPods!! Once in a while one of the iPodless ones will give me a gracious thank you for being considerate enough to let them know I am coming. Yeah, I have two computers but one is really a Polar heart rate monitor and between the two I can pretty much display all the information I want at the same time. The bike has a Shimano 105 drivetrain and those are the trigger shifters that came with it. The grips are Ergon, I wanted standard but only some special light version was in stock at the time so that is what I got. The Jones bar is the larger diameter(31.8 mm (?)) at the clamp point and that is what the Fuji flat bar was too so it was a drop in. If you want to use the Jones bar on a bike with a 25.4 mm stem clamp diameter you just change out the stem too. The diameter of the bar where the controls clamp on is compatible with the mountain bike controls which most hybrids will have.



Nothing special but it suits me very well. Some of the things I have done came from reading of all your experiences here on BF. I hope that I in turn may inspire you to solve a problem you are having or trick out your ride just the way you like it.

Just picked this up last night. Cannondale Quick 5. This thing is incredibly light and nimble. I added the rack, mirror, speedo, and bar ends. First stop: Jersey shore this Sunday! Can't wait to ride on the boardwalk, just like I did 40(ish) years ago. It's my favorite thing to do at the beach. Now, let's see if I can get the pic to work (fingers crossed).

I've got almost the same bike lift as you do, Ken, and bought it in Belgium. Cheap & handy stuff for working on my bikes.
My garage is almost done and it's got a floor since last week ... will post pictures one of these.

Here's mine, it kept me busy over the winter, a little unconventional maybe but it rides great and doesn't seem too small when i ride, even though the seatpost height is shouting that i'm a liar.

Thanks. They're two sided Shimano SPD's, pretty sure PD-M520L. I like the double sided for traffic, also can easily pedal if not firmly clicked in to get away at an intersection. My road bike has Look cleats/pedals and these are easier and also MTB shoes easier for walking than Look cleats.

OMG I love this bike! I only have 110 miles on it so far, but it's far and away better than my previous "comfort bike" and I love riding it. It's been a great fit for me (both in terms of physical fit and fitting my riding style/environments).

Mine are made in China so I assume they would be imported just about anywhere. I just don't know where to tell people from outside the US to look for them. My wife and I had the great pleasure of living in the UK for six months in 1988. At the time what we would call a hardware store was known locally as an ironmonger, what we would call a home center was a DIY, and if we had wanted what we would call new kitchen cabinets we would have gone to a place called, I kid you not, "Texas Tom's" and asked to see their range of "units". Two peoples separated by a common language and all that, with the result that I would not have a clue to where one would look for them in Belgium. The one place I have never seen them for sale here in the US is a bicycle shop! I got mine at a local farm supply store, right between the hitch pins for your John Deere and the CB radios for your pickup!

Your bike has come together nicely but as you've been on here for two months now, it's time to ask for you to take the pictures from the drive-side. We don't need a white rollerdoor though, your beautiful usual background pics are perfect.

Heh ... same here ... in LBS's they only sell those Tackx stands or similar.
I got mine in a typical local hardware store.

He's in good company. Even khutch chose to display the quick release levers instead of the drive train. Only one picture on the whole last page showed the right side.

Maybe we're doing it wrong....OK new rule, we do the opposite to road, Hybrids are to be photographed from the non-drive-side.
