Indeed ... but it's his choice ... anywhere between 80 for supercomfort and 130 for superlow resistance is possible
Still, for doing roads and pavements these seem like nice tires for a hybrid.

Actually if you want to see the Bad Boy - here it is.

This picture was taken in one of the many tight turns, hence the upright position on the flatbar.
Pitty they didn't take pictures on the long straight stretches too.
This'll probably be the first and last TT on my hybrid, for obvious reasons ... but it was fun

Good looking bike and the modifications sound like nice upgrades. What do you mean about changing the wheels to road wheels? Aren't they road wheels, or do you want a lighter set of rims? I ask that because I don't believe a road hub would fit the frame due to the geometry set up for discs. I think the frame would be too wide.

I put some old toe clipped pedals on my bike today. When I say old, I mean 1979 old. They look pretty out of place on my bike. I will take a shot of the bike with them on it either later tonight or tomorrow.

Sorry no bike in the picture but the 17 year old who stole it may have had one.

Yes, you got it right - these have the hubs with 6-bolt. Any regular road wheel fits just perfect - it is standard 100/130 frame size.
I tried wheels (9spd cassette) from my wife road bike and it works perfect - not even any adjustment needed.

[QUOTE=AlphaDogg;13023831]I just got new tires. They are 28mm and can hold 130psi. My old tires could hold 80psi at 38mm. They are grey Serfas Secas.

how are you liking your new tires? im debating on getting 32 or 28 since im mostly on streets, leaning towards the 28. im currently working with 700x40

Sorry either I'm wrong or we have different frames. I tried once just as a matter of interest and my road wheels weren't wide enough. Maybe I was dreaming.

Here is the same bike with regular Mavic Ksyriums

I'm just curious what type of frame you have (to avoid them in the future

Oh I have a badboy disc, so best you avoid them.

As I said, I might be wrong, but I thought it was wide so one could swap back and forth between 26" and 700mm.

You got me puzzled .. I will try tu put my 26" MTB disk wheels in my bad boy... But I was thinking the spacing is standard (need an expert here).
I use fork mount rack all the time and road bike carbon forks, mtb forks with V-brakes or disk are fit the same into the receiver.

I like them alot. I would recommend going with the same tires I did, as they have a belt of protection under the center ridge of the tire for great flat protection. They were only $25 apiece. I plan on getting 3-4 cycling seasons (will come out to about 3000-4000 miles)out of these tires. They upped my average speed from 12mph to 15mph.

The only thing I don't like about these narrow tires is that sharp rocks on the road always stick in the tires. It makes a thump sound after every rotation of the tire, so it gets pretty annoying. I end up having to stop and pick out the rock so that it stop making the sound. The rocks don't penetrate the tires, so it's all good.

Some updates since the last time...
- Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension seat post ( works great )
- Rear rack
- Ritchey foam grips ( pretty comfy, but could be thicker... )
- Rear light 1watt Blackburn Mars 4.0 ( extremely bright and visible, couldn't be happier )
- Front torchlight 5watts Cree Q5 ( perfect for night rides. I can ride 15-18 mph with it, and still feel safe and see stuff, from Ebay $12-$15 including shipping )
- Deore XT Pro brake shoes - much longer and much better braking power comparing to oem ones.
- Tires: Specialized Infinity Armadillo 700x38c rear, and Specialized Infinity Sport 700x38c front. They look identical, and the only differences are price: $10 cheaper for sport, and flat protection - Armadillo version is better, but also weights little more )
I officially already spent more for upgrades than I paid for the bike...Don't tell my wife ;-)

I know the wife won't appreciate your upgrades as much as you, but be happy in the thought that you are not alone. I'm sure a great deal of us have spent more on upgrades. That's why the component industry loves us.

Wink This will be mine...

My soon to be new bike! Im pretty excited! Trek 7.2 fx 22.5!!!!

I made my decision today after reading many many posts in this forum and of course reading Sheldon "Everything" Brown's encyclopedia. After numerous test rides of various Treks on my lunch hour, this is the one for me.

Now I need a helmet and a bike rack for my Fit...than a trip to DC so I can get in qmsdc15's "K" street traffic thread Ha ha.... Thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge in this forum....incredible reading for a neophyte cyclist.
