A long term back injury which means I need an upright riding position.

Nice bike Andy
I didn't know Trek made those that nice standard.
Do you use that strange handlebar and if so, how?

I use it occasionally as an alternate hand/body position to give me a break - steering is obviously more difficult so it's a "long straight aero" position only. Having said that I do intend to replace it with a narrower flat bar (the "strange" one came standard on the bike) as I find these too wide in the normal hand position.

Wow...nice looking Boy.

I like the Niner fork.
It does not have V-brake bosses though...
(do not want to have discs on my Boy)

Damn fine looking bike. What size tyres have you got on it? I understand we have different frames (mine is 2007) and the biggest I could fit were 32mm.
Also, is it sitting higher at the front than with the original fork?

Gotta love the texture of clean unpainted carbon
I even took off the decals of my disc wheel to see more of it.

That looks to me like a flat-bar cyclocross bike. How far off am I?

Ha, sweet! A fellow Roam 1 member, welcome brother! I picked up the Canadian Roam 1 about two weeks ago. Loving it!

Stopped by the LBS to check out the Giant Roam... looks like a pretty well set up rig and my friend (one of the mechanics) both thought it would make for a pretty sweet rig for doing pretty much anything.

my newest bike in the stable. A craigslist find. Traded a trek 330 for it, one I didnt use. Had to put on tires,seat,5"rise bars, new cables, new rim strips and tubes. She glides, unlike any other bike I own.

This is the Walmart Mongoose Paver that I lightly modified a couple of years ago for fitness riding. It took me from 245+ lbs to 180, whereupon I built my carbon roadie. I still ride the Paver around town for errands or when I'm unsure of the road conditions or think I may want to do a bit of light off-roading... you know... hybrid stuff.

Hey VoyagerAl, I have that exact same bike, the Trek 730 Multitrack. I bought it in 1997, and I love it. It has such a smooth comfortable ride.
