Took off the old cateye today and put the mount on for my Garmin.
Surprisingly the stem length and shape didn't allow for the mount to go on the stem, and the same problem with the height of the stem vs my bars.
I had to wrap a bit of handlebar tape around my bars to get some height, so I could mount it. I suppose I could buy the special mount for in front of the stem but I can't bring myself to forking out the money for something so simple.
Anyway, I'm happy with the result as is...

That's a great looking bike right there.

I'll not be composite frame, but I am probably ordering up an Escape 1 this week, maybe tonight.

Soon I'll finally be able to post in the "Post picture of your Hybrid" thread!

Thanks I think so too. Just wish Giant didn't put sooooo many "Giant" labels for the free advertising. At least they don't jump out at you like my TCR Composite. You will enjoy your new Escape 1 it's a great hybrid. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I don't think it looks too bad with the Giant labels, but since you mentioned it, why not peal the ones off the rims, and swap the seatpost?
A nice set-back post won't cost too much.

The JBC still lives, the bars seat and post that were put on the 29er are going back on the JBC it also has a Sram Force cassette & derailer. Oh and it sports wheels from my old Scott.

Yes you can join this thread but first you need to pass the initiation procedure. First we need a signed certificate of authenticity from Giant that your bike is a Giant then you need to scull a bottle of bourbon while we strap you naked to a light pole next to a highway. So it's not much to get in here really.

Well, I use to have an Escape, but not of the Giant variant. It was of the Ford variant and I'm hoping the Giant version is much better than that Ford junk.

I don't do much if any drinking these days (only on my boss's dime maybe once a year.)

And, are you sure you would want to subject the public to that spectical? That would be quite disrespectful to the general public. After all, I do post in the Clyde's forum, LOL.

after few months without cycling it was time to get back in the saddle ... ofcourse with few upgrades

Ritchey PRO wet black stem and handlebar, 1x10 setup with Race Face Narrow Wide chainring and Shimano ZEE rear der. and shifter... Very pleased both with simplicity of looks and how it rides
