I think it's a bontrager (sp) on the back, it cost $20 including labour, lol, that's insanely cheap, is it a bad tire I shouldn't use? I could just get a matching one for the front. I love the tires on my Asama, never had a flat yet and I've gone over broken glass by accident, over curbs, ugly gravel, 10th ave etc, no probs.

I'm sure I'll like it fine, I messed around on it on the goofy trainer thing a time or two. Be great to have a second urban assault bike for commuting, seriously needs fenders though, it is an Alberta import, guess it doesn't rain there lol.

ok, here are the *final* versions of my two hybrids, the result of more than a year of component bargain hunting at LBS'sesses and online stores 
If my current career plans don't work out, I'll open a bike shop This hobby is very addictive, once you have only *one* spare component, your mind starts working out what kind of bike it could be used for ...

it may be green but it's not hunter/fern green - it's teenage mutant ninja turtle 'ooze' green. that with a red seat, to me, does not look chrimassy...

I'm guilty to say that i've only ridden treks. for me, the reason why i stuck to trek:
like 15-20 years ago, when i had a road bike, i bought a ross (for the price) but i had been looking at treks for their known reliability and quality. fast fwd to now - there are 20x more bike companies now than before and i am not familiar with any of them.
it's sorta like brand loyalty for me - although i've never owned a trek bike before but i know they're good bikes. all it took this time around to test ride a trek 7.2 fx for a few minutes to know that trek was the way to go for me. i didnt research other companies simply because i did not want to spend the extra time. i went with what's familiar and has a good history.
i also have a habit of recommending trek a lot bc of the experience i've had with two bikes (fx 7.2 and a 7.7 ).... i hope none of my recommendations come across as discounting other companies because i have absolutely no experience with other bike companies.

It does look great! It has actual wheels with spokes! Not a radial fiasco up front with 18, or a 2X 24-spoke mess in back. Actual full-count spokes!
It's nice to see at least one company hasn't cut costs - starting with the wheels.

Luddit; well no, just some artistic/futuristic shape. The bike is alright - I´m a C&V rider and the "newish" 2002 Crescent helps me through the winter!

Oh wait... I did that once, only there was a big motor between my 2 wheels. Most of Saskatchewan had terrible side winds, even under some significant power, had to ride almost 45º to the north wind.
