No pictures tonight, but I did my normal marina and lake ride for 21 miles. The lake and marina don't look the same without the sun rising as you've seen in many other pics I've posted in the thread. The drunks coming off the lake in the evening are interesting and some are VERY photogenic, but I might have my cell phone tossed in the lake by some big dude that doesn't appreciate me taking shots of his scantily clad lady-friend...

Cheers!!

Wifey had to go to the little Tasmanian West Coast town of Strahan for work so tagged along as chief driver and bag carrier.

Took the DS 8.4 with me of course because while she's working I'll be playing

The little town has bike paths around it but it's only about 4 kilometres end to end but there's some lovely little spots.

Outside of town though is heaps of Forestry roads so decided to take a 60 km return ride with all you expect from forestry roads: mud, puddles, gravel, sand....

At the end of the roads beach, lighthouse and even dolphins... Can't go wrong with that and made it well worth the ride

Must admit I did leave my run home a bit late but managed to get back in time to miss needing to run full lights though blinkies were good so all those cars returning down those dirt roads could see me.
.

All up put around another 100kms on the DS yesterday, most of it dirt

I was out on my 23 mile loop this morning, saw this, and immediately thought of my Aussie friends on the forum. It's not something one sees in North Texas very often. It's not Rugby or Australian Rules Football, but it still fits the bill...

Great shots limbot, great part of the country down there!!

Today I rode from the city up Linear Park again but went straight up Gorge road to Cudlee Creek then up to Fox Creek MTB park. I took the road from there to the top carpark and rode the XC downhill to the bottom car park on the hybridized JBC. Only fell once on a slippery down hill hairpin turn (couldn't unclip from the road pedals) Then back to the city the same way, 83km's all up.

I bought a Canon S110 second hand on ebay I kept under the saddle so no backpack this time, big weight savings there. For a point and shoot compact cam the S110 has outstanding picture quality.

This is just before reaching Kangaroo Creek Dam.

There's a closed road to an old lookout at the dam. It's where I took this.

The Flite saddle is by far the best I've ever used, highly recommended.

I met this guy but moved on before he spat on me!

Near the top car park at Fox Creek.

These are on the XC downhill. Figured this bike couldn't be any worse than a cyclocross bike, I don't think I'll do it again though.

Koala feeding on the side of the road was happy letting me take a close up.

Wow, camels and koala's? Granted, that koala should be able to find something more comfortable to sit on that barbed wire! All I saw was a snake and some guys out playing Cricket (see above).

Cheers,

I didn't see you slot this in before me!! Yeah if I went to the US I wouldn't expect to see cricket. Back before the internet every kid grew up here playing street cricket after school (in summer) then football during winter.

Part.1.

Another epic ride today. This time city to surf then along the coast to Adelaide's desalination water plant, the turn around point doesn't sound to flash but it's about the ride getting there.
Forgot the cateye unfortunately so no distance reading.

Hmm lots of pic's, what to choose?
A shot near the start point going past the city.

I've ridden 20km's approx at this point and I'm heading to the further most point in this pic.

Looking back at Glenelg from the jetty.

I was amused at them trying to load boat through the seaweed.

Went onto the beach here. Still along way to go!!

I found a track taking my around the cliffs I used for awhile but I got sick of the stairs eventually finding a road to travel further on.

Part.2.

There's no view from the turn around point but this will do showing the way back. The arrow's about the spot where I started along the coast.

The rides almost over, still had plenty energy though

The End.

Nice pics JBC. I'm in Adelaide in a couple of weeks time visiting my sister. I'm hoping my brother in law ( who's a serious cycler including tri ) has a clunker I can ride around with. Don't think he'd trust my on any of his expensive carbons

Well, yesterday afternoon and evening, it took me on my regular 25 mile route from my house, out and about at Lewisville Lake, and back into town to finish up riding a MUP as the sun set. It was 98 degrees at the start of my ride. I stepped off the Fuji at the 10 mile point, and was very tempted to get in the water (and realized that the next 15 miles would result in some chafing if I did...)

Cheers!
