Nice and sunny 25 mile ride this morning, certainly helped blow the cobwebs out.

The H Plus Son Archetype rims have transformed the comfort of this bike compared to the stock Sirrus wheels, with the S-Works CG-R Carbon Seatpost it feels almost as smooth as my full suss mountain bike. Good upgrades and well worth it.

Nice green scenery Ajh800, first day of summer here and the grounds parched and brown.

Didn't ride Sunday (hot humid windy) but did one of my normal night time walks very nice. Slow ride Monday night and took a few shots on another nice night.

I recently picked up an older Nishiki hybrid that is in almost new condition. Got a tune up and dropped on some new 32C Ritchey tires and tore up the dirt trails in Peter's Canyon since it was raining and cold in my area and I didn't want to risk dropping the new Tarmac.

This is the first long dirt ride I've done on the Hybrid and wow was it fun. Like being a kid riding my old BMX bike in the rain. Looking forward to doing it again.

JBC, LGHT,

Different world there JBC, stunning pics - must see a variety of wildlife & bugs out there. Sheep are a bad as it gets for us.

Nishiki, now there's a bike manufacturer you don't hear about too often.

jbchybridrider 12-02-14 08:59 AM

The Nishiki looks nice. A well known brand more so in the 80's with a lot of proud owners.

Did 55km around home tonight to Mallala on some rough back tracks and on the bitumen most of the way back. Left home as the sunlight was almost gone riding into the rising moon to town. It's fantastic at night in the country.

The shot of the bike in the field is a great photo!

I haven't carried two bottles for years. Can't you just refill while you are out at a public bubbler etc.?
I am lucky as we have natural springs everywhere so it's never an issue. If the summer heat is so bad, what do you use to replace salt?

Thanks mate. I bet the rural areas of Pennsylvania are awesome too.

It's cold, windy and rainy so what do you do? Take a couple of not quite as cycling enthusiastic mates for a bike ride :)

If you don't go past the gate at the end of the Pipeline Track....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...pseb10d646.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps7f545601.jpg
Then you don't get to the weir....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps44082d21.jpg
And while it's more a walk than a ride many people have never seen the aquaducts.....

But you'll pay, covered in mud, wet and cold, shoes still drying even after hitting them with the hairdryer. Think it's an excuse for another pair :)

Are your mates not enthusiastic about cycling in general or the weather ? If the latter there weak, looks like perfect conditions and a beautiful place to ride!

As in not as obsessed as ones self, one rides about once a month., the other rides every 6 months :) The original plan was to do the North/South track but given the weather and the guys lack of riding figured Pipeline was safer.

And yes the weather made it more fun. A very slow zone 1 ride to the weir then kinda left them behind and picked up the pace on the way back :) nothing like the feel of mud in the face. Actually jumped in the shower fully clothed to rinse off the clothes as the missus didn't want me to dirty her washing machine :)

50k around city and the burbs today. Also explored around Adelaides new stadium that's 10 min walk from the city centre.

It's the day after the 1st Test between Australia & India. Here's the final scores on the historic board for all the US residents to work out

TO THE LAND OF PAIN......

Geez, got caught out by the slippery, greasy, winter roads and went down like a sack of sh1te.

Bike is ok, few bruises & holes in clothing for the Mrs to sew up!

Merry Christmas

jbchybridrider 12-21-14 05:26 AM

@giantcfr1 Thanks mate.

@
Ajh800 That's no good, glad your OK.

Rode a roadbike for the first time in over 3 years today post op. back surgery but won't give up the hybrids.

alexaschwanden 12-22-14 05:49 PM

I rode 35.4 miles up and down the Guadalupe river trail and san tomas trail. The weather was sunny with light winds. I weight my bike with all my stuff on it, rack, panniers, supplies, water and food, it came out to about 50 lbs, try riding that.

jbchybridrider 12-25-14 05:54 AM

Did an after lunch Christmas day ride around Gawler today. Tried out the local BMX track but didn't like it so moved on.

Rode the iron horse trail from Pleasant Hill to Concord back down to Dublin, which comes to 32 miles. A bit boring, and flat, but I'm working on my distances. I wanted to turn back towards Pleasant Hill, but I was mentally burnt out as the longest I've biked before in one sitting was 7 miles. Will try to hit up more Bay Area trails over the coming weekends.

Ajh800 12-27-14 01:17 PM

Watch out for that Cash Converter JBC. What's the retro mtb? It looks in mint condition and given the rapid progression of mtb design looks a timeless classic. My Ellsworth will be in double digits soon, best give it a spin around Dalby Forest - no snakes this time of year (adders).

jbchybridrider 12-28-14 06:31 AM

@Ajh800 1990 Sakae Litage it is. I thought the UK was void of snakes like New Zealand... just learnt something.
