Today is my 'day off' riding as I'd ridden every day since sunday, total of about 117 miles. I did ride around the block to tell my daughter, nephew and niece and the dog who were out walking that we (the grown-ups...) were going to eat the ice cream cake...

23 mile loop north along lake shore drive in Mequon, WI, then across to Cedarburg, up to the interurban trail to Grafton, a short loop around downtown Grafton before coming back down the interurban trail again through Cedarburg, into Thiensville, then back to Mequon.

Just a few km down to the local pub so I could grab a bite to eat, gamble a little and win $150.00, and post about my adventures here....

It is a dreary and wet night... the Trek likes this kind of weather as aluminium does not rust and Marathons are excellent in the rain.

My usual 26 miles out county roads with a few hills and back along the relatively flat state trail. With three morning rides of 16 miles each and the same 26 mile ride yesterday I'm up to my 100 miles for the week.

Did 12.9 on three town loops. Lots of stops today with very traffic from tourists. Still micro manipulating my saddle, trying to get it just right. Not very fulfilling, but did get some good "sprints" and felt better about the saddle. Oh yeah, I was able to skip the post ride trip to sauna...if you know what I mean.

EsoxLucius: I should join the Coda ranks on Thursday, if tracking data is accurate. Long way from Reno!

    Our local bike path.
Started riding in June, 5 to 6 miles per ride, avg spd of 11mph.
Now hitting 50 miles per week with one 25 mile ride on the weekend. Today's ride was the first where I got caught in the rain but still managed 13.7 avg spd due to riding with a roadie.
Our local bike path is 6.3 miles long, mostly wooded and mostly flat.

    Ward

Mine took me on an 85km bout from my town of Morinville into Edmonton and back on THrusday. Planned to ride thorugh my favorite River Valley route, but central Alberta has been plagued with forest fire smoke from British Columbia for the last few days, which sat uncomfortably thick in and around the North Saskatchewan River compared to everywhere else. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but the smoke was so thick you could look directly at the sun without harm. So instead i rode some alternate paths and arrived home smelling like wood-smoked meat.

Today I took my Jamis Coda Comp into an LBS for a fitting. I just added Profile Design boxer bar ends and Jammer GT aerobars and wanted a second opinion on adjustments and fit. Can't wait for my 16 mile ride in the morning.

    Smile

Did a 40 kilometer tour of the region and took a few nasty hills on the way, namely "de beerendries" at about 10 kilometers.
I tried not to completely exhaust myself too much and came in at an average of 29km/h which I was very pleased with.

Living on the top of a hill is a pain since the last bit is always uphill.

Congratulations. I have almost the same set-up and can assure you it will be great
I advise you to put comfy grips on the top ends of the aerobars to make them more comfortable ... I did and it is a huge difference since I use my aerobars for about 80% of the time.

I had a nice 30 mile ride, kept a 16.9 mph pace up and was able to maintain 18 mph avg for the first 12 miles before a big hill (for Illinois, 481 feet?) took some wind out of my saild. Lots of bicycle/ pedestrian/ canine traffic on the paths. And a couple of horses!

Rode about 15 miles today down along Pamlico Sound here in eastern NC today after getting off the ferry. First six miles were on a TERRIBLE road, paved but constant micro-bumps. Drove me crazy. Also was into a pretty good breeze. Was having second thought about the whole deal, when we turned on another road, very smooth, and kinda down wind...all the way to destination. After several hundred yards on the smooth road, looked at computer and we were 4 mph faster ..with no noticeable increase in effort. Though the roads were paved, the probability of a venomous snake encounter (rattlesnake, copperhead or moccasin), is very very high. Fortunately none of those critters came out to play. My brother has seen 5 or six bears on the road in the last several weeks. I 'forgot' to mention that to my wife, but he asked her as soon as we arrived if she had seen any bears. Then the story came out. We did not cycle back!

Yesterday, I just had a day off, rode 6 miles round trip to 6th grade parent orientation. 2 bikes in the rack. Traffic @ end was intimidating but I was saved by chorus, since chorus parents had an extra get together after the main event. Nice evening for a spin though!

i went 30.6 miles. i started at palo alto and went over the Dumbarton bridge to coyote hills in Fremont and headed backed. on the way back i saw another biker riding a Jamis Hybrid, it looked nice. the trails at coyote hills were a little rough and then it turned in to asphalt which was nice. great ride.

Today it was really nice out and I'd been looking forward to a ride for a while and went 37 miles, around my usual haunts (3x local forest preserves.) Sunday AM there's not a lot of motorvehicular traffic but there were a lot of cyclists out which made for a great ride. Something about my pace made me hit a bunch of stoplights that usually knock me off my pace but today I timed them just right.

Yesterday was the 4th annual Tour De Perogy... a social ride that takes us about 120 km out and back to the Ukrainian Heritage Village for their annual Harvest Festival.

Gotta give extra points to the guy that rode in for the ride and tacked another 30km on to the day's ride total... he's the good looking guy on the hybrid and is a quite the monster on the road with that Trek.

Even more impressive methinks was my friend who rode her Globe with it's 8 speed Alfine hub on what was her longest ride ever... she did it in a dress and comfortable shoes.
