LOL, just a boring ride with "NO SNOW", I'm sure glad that everyone else in the USA, decided to take the "SNOW" from Southern CO. this year, it's been SOOOOOOOO nice to ride thru the whole month of December!!! 16.76 miles today, riding on mostly paved-rail trails on the road hybrid!

Thumbs up

My wife had a Trek 7.3 waiting under the tree for me this year and today was the first day I could put her through her paces. I hit the Pinellas Trail for a nice 25 mile rounder and stopped by the HOB for a couple of pints on the way back.

Oh, I'm new here, it's nice to meet you all

Well I wish that I had a good ride report...I embarrassed my son, : ( did not mean to ) , as we are going out the door, he makes
the comment, ( DAD, do we have to go on one of those slow relaxing rides ? ) meaning I am slow...OKAY, He has took about the
last 3 to 4 weeks off from riding, I only missed one day, ( Christmas Eve ) ...So on the new Giant, took off the truck bag with
a lot of weight in it. Just hoping to keep up with him, on the first 3 miles I was trying to draft him, but he was riding way to slow,
remember that the Giant is a MTB really. He is riding a 700 x 28c basically a flat bar road bike. Then I made the mistake of saying,
if that is fast as your going to go, you better draft me...I blistered him to the MAX ! Lost sight of him after 2 miles, I went an extra 1 mile,
and was still waiting at the house for him. Now the last 1/2 mile is a rough down hill drive still has snow and ice and mud...But
I was flying, we had to have that father and son talk about being a GOOD SPORT, because he is pretty fast. All turned out well, and
things were learned. ( And D#m that new bike is FAST with those tires ! ( LOL )...Richard : )

Yesterday my son and me took a nice long ride, ( dark night time ), but non the less No stress. Today Rode the Schwinn
finally weather was perfect, 60 degrees, then took out the Giant for the same ride, shaved off 3 minutes. Must be the new shoes
running effect..LOL ..or the more aggressive style riding ! I really like that bike ! After changing the tires, it is fast on the road.
Then can still handle some light XC riding. Hope ( ALL OF YOU HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR ! ) Best regards, Richard
Chow !

Well today, "nowhere", it's snowing outside, on Sat. we did a nice ride, then ended up at the LBS to have my new 8 speed Sram Rocket click shifters installed. Sure feels better with 8 speed 11x32 cluster than the 7 Speed 12x34 Mega Range cluster, that HUGE jump from a second cog of 24 to the 1st. cog of 34 was a RPIA! You'd start "griding" up big hills in the 24, then be spinning yourself silly in the 34. Now I've got a 28 second cog so I don't have to "spin silly" for many hills! The wife got all new brake shoes, we'd thought about replacing them sooner but spaced it, went hauling down a hugh hill and I watched one of the rear brake pads, start "chunking" off pieces of the pad, It was sunny, warmish, with very little wind on Sat. to bad we had some many "things" to get done, would have like to have ridden longer! 15 miles total.

Beautiful day today, used it to climb Avala for the first time. This is the nearest mountain here, not very high, and a standard hill-climbing route for all types of local cycling enthusiasts and professionals.

All pictures were made by phone, most of them while riding, so please excuse the poor quality.

Approaching:

The start of the 4 km (2.5 miles) climb:

Three quarters of the way up there's great view that cannot be seen in this photo:

TV and radio tower, composite picture:

Start of the way down, picture blurry due to great acceleration (yeah, right):

My hybrid took me down to Long Beach, CA today. Fun stuff and a gorgeous day. I tried to attach the pics but they were too big!! So here's the Facebook link. Also anyone who's looking for a riding buddy in Los Angeles area hit me up! I'm just getting back onto my hybrid after some time off, so I generally just tool around wherever and whenever I can get out, but I love to get out there and ride, especially on a beautiful day like today!

I took mine on a trip today...in the back seat of the truck. I dropped the frame off to be powder coated, because of the amount of work they have scheduled it will be a few weeks before I get it back.

It was a lovely winter day and I left my road bike at home, deciding to ride one of the mountain courses on my Hybrid.

Winter's back around here. Went down the only bike path this side of river Sava, along the river and around the Ada Ciganlija lake. Including this ride I've clocked in just over 100 miles this year, yay.

The path was clear most of the way...

Which is why I hit patchy melted and refrozen snow way too fast, resulting in damage to my lovely new bar tape, barely 50 miles on it.

Damaged my palm too, but at least that'll mend by itself. Interestingly, no damage was done to the glove on that hand.

Parts of the way were ice rinks. Luckily, there was usually more or less untouched snow to ride on right by.

Water level is quite high, these graffiti weren't painted from a boat...

End of the ride; I've experienced condensation before, but this was my first beardcicle.

Took the Trek for a Little trail riding, not to far, and nothing to hard. Legs have not been recovering that
well lately. But I have been doing huge amounts of rugged hiking for the last three weeks or so, think I
need to rest them for a few days. Richard

I had the same problem back in the autumn. I bought a new bike and I just couldn't stop myself from pushing hard on every ride, and of course I couldn't get myself to take a day off while the weather is good. I'd start each new ride with the legs a bit more sore than the last one, and yet I'd try to ride as hard as the day before. Well, after a week or two the weather got lousy, and now I'm trying to get back into form.

Yeah, I was somewhat surprised. I've ridden in below freezing temperatures before, but I guess I didn't go quite as far.
