Just got back from my work in La. Thought I ride out to my old club to see how It looks. Wish I had brought me a couple clubs...had the whole course to my self.

I went up one of the larger climbs in my area today. I've been too timid to attempt it until now. I thought I was going to die about a mile from the top when everything began to smell like fresh baked brownies, but I made it. Slowly.

I did the 60 mile loop on "A Peach of a Ride" today. Here's some pictures from one of the rest stops. Great (but windy) day.

Went out to Cape San Blas area.

Lived here during the 90s

Since the mid 80's there has to be at least a 1000' of beach that had eroded. They are now planning on moving the lighthouse.

Indian Pass..It's a blast to ride the beach here!

oh man, that area's about to get pounded by Isaac isn't it? The area in those pics I posted at the top of this page may also take a beating.

Looks like it's headed toward Louisiana near where I work...Hopefully no more than a cat 1. We rode bikes out on the Cape back in Jan and I been wanting to go back since TS Debbie....eroded quite a bit!. The fence may be down after Issac.

Absolutely one of the most unique places on the coast but more mosquitoes than I've ever witness anywhere in my life, even the Okefenokee Swamp. LOL.

For some reason they seem just bigger out on the Cape. We had the wind from the north Sunday and the Dog Flies were out in force!

Next time you are out there, take some closer pics of the erosion. There are very few coast lines as unique as this one as land (landscape) just trods right into the sea.

Ok,,,I will also go through my pictures I've taken since the 80's. Here's website of some historical stuff: https://www.capesanblaslight.org/
It's amazing that they haven't had to move it in nearly 100 years!

That looks like it was a wonderful day. I'd love to be sitting under that cover with a lemonade (or two) chating.

I've basically reinjured myself by riding when I probably should have been resting.

My shoulder, back, pec muscle area is causing me a lot of pain and discomfort.

The 50 mile ride I did Saturday really messed me up.

I've promised myself most of a week off the bike, though I probably need more....

It was great fun, and I have some awesome pics and video for my efforts anyway.

Classic Coney Island bustles with people, lively music, and beautiful Summer scenery. Mild in the low 80's, a 49 mile loop to Coney Island, and Southern Brookyln, returning via Howard Beach and Woodhaven Blvd. www.AstoriaHD.blogspot.com
