Thanks, I tried for a year out in AZ and enjoyed it...but I'm addicted to Salt Water! I even work and live 2/3 of the time in a boat.

Last weekend I checked out the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin (there were none) and the Kite Festival on the Mall.
This weekend the blossoms are supposed to be at their peak, so I'll brave the tourists and head back there on Sunday.

Took a little ride around Thomasville, Ga...near my neighboring hometown of Cairo. I've been wanting to ride around here for a while...lot of beautiful old historic homes! There also famous for their Rose Show for over 90 years and this big old Live Oak tree.

Through the years I've never thought much of their Court House but they are remodeling it and it looks like it will look better than it ever has.

15 mile, 550 feet climbing .. ride up to Canada road. Was pleasantly surprised to find the road closed to motorists .. cycling Sunday. Hit 39.8 mph on the way down - just missed the 40 mark

Nice ride, there seems to be huge difference to me between 35 MPH & 40.. Above that and your blasting

I always like to see photos of your Sawyer. When did you switch to the Alfine hub? I'm pretty sure that the last time I saw photos you had a derailleur.

It definitely was a blast Between my eyes watering (I wear eyeglasses, not wrap around sunglasses) and keeping an eye on the road, I never looked at the computer. If I had seen 39.8 I think I might have found some extra energy somewhere

Thanks! Sometimes I think I post too many pics of it. It's such a joy to ride...but I still like riding the Kona just as well. I got a awesome deal on the hub and put it on back in the Fall.

Pics from yesterdays ride!

It has been an interesting past couple of days. After not being able to ride this weekend (out of town), I couldn't go any longer without riding.

Yesterday's ride was under full cloud cover, 40 degree temperature, sustained wind speeds in the low 20s, and gusts up to 40mph (there was a wind advisory at the time). Even though the conditions were less than ideal, I still put in a good 26 miles.

Today's ride was a completely different animal. The forecast said that there was a minimal chance of ran until later this evening. The wind was low (single digits) and the temp was 45 degrees. 3 miles into the ride, things took a dramatic turn. I got stuck in a thunderstorm complete with high winds, BOOMING thunder, lightning, and an absolute downpour. I told myself that I would ride 2 more miles to see if I'd get cold. After 2 miles, I was still warm (well...relatively warm), so I kept going for another 21 miles, making for a 24 mile ride. While my toes did get a little cold, I stayed relatively comfortable.

All in all, they were still great rides. Any ride can be a good ride when you love cycling!

Been away for a couple of weeks visiting my family, so my brother lent me his hybrid to do a few rides.

With all of the rain that we have been getting, the river has flooded. It seemed like no matter which route I wanted to take today, all I kept finding were flooded roads/trails. There were spots where the water over the road looked to be about knee deep!

Still did a 25 mile ride, though. Temp was 39 and it was sprinkling on and off (thankfully I didn't get caught in a storm this time!).

Now that the weather is getting warmer I'm starting to explore the bike paths in the area. Took the trail out to Lake St. Clair Metro Park, didn't factor in the temperature difference near the water and was wishing I had brought a jacket when I got out there, but it was a great ride anyway. Took out the new camera, and I have no experience with "real" cameras, so it was fun experimenting with the settings.

Interesting

To many nice pictures to comment on them all, wonderful looking bikes & back grounds. Went for a soothing ride, (not a work out one) spent a little over an hour on the bike, & JUST LOVE that Giant Escape City ! If I didn't know better, I would swear they made it just for me Probably do my first century on it.. came across this bike chained up

Riding around the neighborhood, we averaged around 15 MPH. My son was so bored. He can blast his Trek SU 2.0.. We ended up at Taco Bell, his favorite place
