I've been spending more time lately on my "do everything" bike.
Yesterday afternoon I was cruising around our lake before a much welcomed storm came.

My cap was purchased at my local bike shop in Kyoto (Silbest Cycles) Available in Black and White, and Shimano Light Blue and White. Maybe I paid about $9 US for it.

Here's one at Chainreaction... https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/m.../rp-prod122480

Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway | North Carolina Trails | TrailLink.com

My GIANT is resting today. However, I plan to ride the Atlantic Yadkin Greenway with my grandson tomorrow. I will post pics of our ride. It should be in the upper 40's for our ride.

Yesterday, rode the East Central Regional Rail trail. I hadn't ridden it since they opened the new section so I didn't know how far it went, so I turned around at about 7.5 miles. Later, after I got home and looked at the map and saw that I was probably less than 2 minutes from the end. Next time. This was at the access point at Green Spring park.

The Cedar Valley Nature Trail goes 1/2 mile from home so a regular ride.
Today's was more of a 25 mile stroll than a workout, the weather outstanding for this time of year.

Ugh, I had this post up last night, went to edit it on my phone, and somehow deleted it. So,
Yesterday I learned where my hybrid cannot take me. My husband took me to a singletrack, Chuck Lennon mtb trails. He had been there once before with our son and said my bike would be no problem. We rode the novice and I made it around, although I had to walk the bike several times and chose the easier way when there was an option. But between my lack of skills and the bike, that's a no-go for me. I found the bike very hard to control and the tires kept slipping on the roots. The disc brakes were nice though. I've only ridden trails like this twice in my life, once back in highschool, 20+ years ago, on a decent mtb and more recently on my daughters smaller big box mtb and I found that way more fun than yesterday.

So the reason for my edit. As we were packing up to go, a family of 6-7 people, looked like teen kids, parents and grandpa, ride up from down the road (there's a state park nearby). They say this must be the trail. Husband is like "yep, this is the easy one and the harder ones are down there". They start for the trail when I notice their bikes. Me: "Um, I don't think you want to ride this trail". The youngest, early teens, was the only one of a mtb, the others were on cruiser bikes, and grandpa was on a road bike, and I'm not sure if they all had helmets. Turns out they were looking for the paved trail that's supposed to run up to the state park, only that section isn't completed yet. They looked like they wanted to go for it anyway. I looked at road bike guy, pointed at my bike (which probably looked like a mtb to them), and said I had a hard time with it. He said if I hit a patch of sand, I'll be done for, and talked them out of it.

So after that we rode the birding trails along the dikes in Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. I'll be returning there with my camera.

Did a 63 Km ride today. My personal best so far. It was a mix of asphalt and dirt/rocks.

Not a long ride like many of you. I am working on getting into better shape, so it's just short rides for me for now. But I snapped this picture of the Wilder Monument at Chickamauga Battlefield.

I had no idea what a Wilder Monument was so had to wiki and Google map it. I love this thread because with the help of Google maps, I can get a scope of where you all ride and appreciate our diverse countries and districts.

I agree with you. Pity that this thread is losing momentum. I have gone through almost every page and enjoy the views provided from all over.
