Time to build this Forum people
Ok everyone we fought to get this forum now it is up to us to develop it. What we need to do is get some material going so that visitors that come to the forum are inspired to join BF as well as the Hybrid forum. Remember the visitor count is usually higher than the member count. Now is not the time to sit back and savor our Victory. Developing this forum will take some work so lets get some threads going & post any ideas you have here. Now look we are not talking about Post Whoring here, lets try to have interesting topics. Not everything has to be Hybrid related but this is a Hybrid forum. It is also a community & needs to be social as well as informational. This is not a gift but an opportunity

Talk about your rides, then.

Crap, that means I have to get out and...ummm...ride I love riding my bike but I haven't become a daily rider yet. The goal is to ride to work most days once the school year begins; however, my ride is terribly short. My husband and I have only had our bikes about 2 months or so. I prob can list most of my rides here
Let's see, our last ride was on the back side of Griffith Park. If you're familiar with the area, we started where the kids train is, rode down Crystal Springs . The road was closed which meant taking the hybrids on to the horse trail which was new to me. Husband used to dirt/mountain bike avidly when he was younger so for him it was nostalgic. There was a hill there that made me grumble. Husband said he didn't think I'd make it. Yes, I'm outta shape. We continued over to the LA Zoo and around to the LA River Bike Path back and around. It was only a 7 or so mile loop but the little hills made it a serious work out for both of us.
And for the hell of it, my first longer ride below on the Manhattan Beach Bike Path, just 8 miles but for me great! My longest now is 11.5 (getting there slowly but surely).
And our bikes

For all you lurkers - just remember that there are mods like me who are simply itching to shut down this forum of half-breeds and other misfits who have no business polluting the sanctuary of 'real' and 'serious' cyclists that is BF. The more you remain silent, the more ammo I have to shut this place down and send you all to that faceless hell called General Cycling.
I am watching, your silence is my victory. Make my day, punks!

First off I want to say congratulations Timber_8 and others who have lobbied for this forum . I also want to say thank you Tom Stormcrowe to listiening to the members and their concerns .
Question, have any decisions been made as to what the specifications might be for a bike to be considered a hybrid? For example not only the bicycle classification of "Hybrid" when purchasing; but what about modifications done to a bike (i.e. changes to handlebars, tires, add-ons, etc.) designed to change a bike from its originally intended purpose. (Sorry read a post by sixty fiver which cleared up my confusion)

I Lurk because I am always willing to learn something new. In fact, I learned a new phrase, "Post Whoring", in the first post of this thread and its demonstration in this forum.

I'm not a bigot. Some of my best friends are hybrids and I think everyone should own one.

I didn't know I was riding a hybrid until some one told me. "That's a hybrid."
Thought I was riding a bike. Not a snow job.

Great bikes Chip. I have six and I just realized if I get one more,I'll have one for each day
of the week. 3 of my bikes are hybrids and maybe there are enough in the U.S. to start
our own state...New Hybrides.

Did you buy 8 white garage-doors for your bikes to pose in front of? Or is that the same one? How many wooden-fences do you have?
